“Be our guest! Be our guest! Put our service to the test!” Or so the song goes. Who doesn’t love this playful scene from “Beauty and The Beast,” in which the enchanted staff welcomes Belle to the castle in grand style?
And speaking of “style,” Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) has been busy recreating the castle’s very detailed beauty in the form of the Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park.
In this video, provided by WDI, Senior Concept Designer Ted Robledo presents our very first sneak peek inside this highly anticipated restaurant. Imagineers recently put the finishing touches on one of its major elements: a massive mural that will serve as the restaurant’s backdrop. Here, Ted shows how WDI combined digital technology with traditional artistry to create a sweeping landscape that gives guests the feeling that they really are walking into a part of the film.

Will Passholders have a day where they can view the New Fantasyland before it opens to full public as Disney does with many attractions?
I’d like to know when the “Be our guest restaurant” is scedule to open?
My family and I are going to be in Disneyworld and I was wondering if the Beauty and the Beast resturant will be open during the last week of June? Also if any other new attractions will be opening during this time? Thank you for your time.
OMG OMG OMG!!! We will be there end of November beginning of December!!! OMG OMG OMG My faviorite movie (and my son’s too — shhhh don’t tell I told you that LOL).
We are going in August and I had hoped it would be ready by then but I have heard it’s looking more like October UGH I would love to go. I’m ready to change reservations if need be!!
(The same question goes for Gaston’s Tavern, as a counter-service restaurant)…
Does anyone know whether BOG will be on the Disney Dining Plan (and if so, whether it would be added to the 2012 options, or if we’d have to wait until 2013)?
When I was there in November for my birthday I heard rumors there are plans to have an animatronic Lumiere similar to the Remy they have at Le Chefs De France in Epcot. Is this true? because that would make me very happy! 🙂
Who is the hot WDI guy in the green plaid? 🙂
Do you know what is scheduled to be open by the first of June? That is when we are going.
I can’t wait !! Beauty & The Beast is one of my daughter’s favorite movies so I know she will love eating there 🙂
I feel the mural, while on it’s own is a nice painting, in this environment just looks like a painted wall 5 feet past the window panes. I feel a more immersive environment, like the Mexico Pavilion, would have worked better at making it feel like the real thing, and not just a restaurant.
Will they be adding the FantasyLand locations, more specifically BoG restaurant, to the wedding venue lists? because I would love to have my wedding reception there!
Oh My Gosh, I am so so excited!!!!!! Beauty and the Beast is my absolute favorite Disney movie of all time and I cannot WAIT to see this beautiful new expansion!! The new restaurant looks stnnning, as only Disney Imagineers could do, and I am so glad that B&B is FINALLY getting it’s due in MK Fantasyland! Thanks to all at the Disney Parks Blog for keeping us updated and can’t wait to see the latest changes when I visit Magic Kingdom tomorrow!! 🙂 <3 #BeautyandtheBeast#1FanForLife!
Love Love Love this movie. I get goose bumps just thinking about it. So glad to see Magic Kingdom getting a new table service restaurant. Sometimes its very hard to get reservations through the busy seasons. Glad to hear a Fall opening is scheduled so it will be open for my Dec. visit.
I missed this part… Is this a full-service restaurant, or counter-service. If it’s full-service, what an awesome treat for all kids, adult and other, to eat in the Beast’s Ballroom? Do we know what the entrance area will look like? The Forbidden Wing, I hope. LOL!
Christoper – For lunch it will be sit-down/quick-service, then it will change over into table-service for dinner. As for your other questions, the Imagineers seem really excited about this part of New Fantasyland, so I’m sure we’ll have another update to share as work progresses! Keep your eyes on the blog!
Jennifer Fickley-Baker thank you for being such an interactive blogger for the Disney Parks Blog. We love your posts and the responses! You encourage guests to participate in the process and share their love of Disney. Great job!
Well thanks, Erin! I’m happy you liked this post, too. I love working with our Imagineer partners to bring you all Fantasyland updates.
