“Be our guest! Be our guest! Put our service to the test!” Or so the song goes. Who doesn’t love this playful scene from “Beauty and The Beast,” in which the enchanted staff welcomes Belle to the castle in grand style?
And speaking of “style,” Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) has been busy recreating the castle’s very detailed beauty in the form of the Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park.
In this video, provided by WDI, Senior Concept Designer Ted Robledo presents our very first sneak peek inside this highly anticipated restaurant. Imagineers recently put the finishing touches on one of its major elements: a massive mural that will serve as the restaurant’s backdrop. Here, Ted shows how WDI combined digital technology with traditional artistry to create a sweeping landscape that gives guests the feeling that they really are walking into a part of the film.

Will they have the domed and mural covered ceiling too?
Hmm, not sure. Will update everyone when I can.
I got sooo excited when this showed up on Facebook! Totally want to eat at the restaurant from my FAVORITE princess movie! So glad I’m moving to Florida in August! One more thing to look forward to!
My family and I have been telling each other “There better be gray stuff, and it better be delicious! And if not there better be some dishes to ask!” since we first heard/saw tale of this restaurant. We affectionately called it “Be our Guestaurant” before we knew the official name (we still call it that).
Simply. Cannot. Wait.
The yearly trip is in May though, so we’ll probably have to see it next year…unless we make a special trip to MK.
I am soooo excited!!!! It looks awesome!!! Of course it will be because anything Disney is Exciting!!!!
Thanks, Connie!
It looks amazing. This might be my new favorite Magic Kingdom restaurant. I can hardly wait to see the menu.
I’ll share the menu as soon as I can. 🙂
so the plan i have been following is that it is QS for lunch and sit-down for dinner. there are three dining rooms, all themed differently… i would like to see the area come ‘alive’ kinda like RFC or t-rex, but i have not seen that in the blogs i am following… Beasts’ castle looks amazing though, of what we could see over the walls!
6 months until I graduate as an engineer, 6 months until I officially apply to become an Imagineer. 😀
Hopefully one day I get to help create the magic.
Keep the dream alive, Luis! Imagineers do amazing stuff!
I can’t wait for this to open! Beauty and the Beast is my all-time favorite Disney movie and to be able to experience this dining room would be a dream come true! I know it’s wishful thinking but if it could be open at the beginning of August my honeymoon would be set! My heart just melts at the thought of creating wonderful memories there with my (soon-to-be)husband!
Thank you Jennifer for the update, it has truly made my day!
Thank YOU, Shelby, and congrats on your upcoming wedding!
oh my goodness!!! I am so excited to see the accomplished be our guest resturante and koodos to the imaginers!
We were there last June and took pics from Cinderella’s castle. Going this June and while I would have loved for it to be finished, it will be fun to see the progress. My 3 daughters and I started doing an annual girls trip 2 yrs ago. We were planning on going to Aulani June 2013 (for my son’s graduation), we are going to have to sneak a couple of days in Orlando in though at some point so we can see this amazing new Fantasyland & not miss our girls trip!! My middle daughter is sort of a Disneyaholic like me…she likes to watch the Parks planning video and has even gone on You Tube to find ride and cruise videos!! Counting down the days til our next trip…Thank you Disney for providing us with a destination where we can have wholesome family time.
What an awesome graduation gift, Jill! Keep watching our blog to see when more parts to New Fantasyland will debut so you can plan your next trip!
I read it is suppose to open fall of 2012, is this true?
I don’t have a date to announce yet. As soon as I get one to release, it will be on the blog.
My girls would be so thrilled to have any part of the New Fantasyland open when we come in August! They are Belle and Ariel’s number one fans, and to be able to see their castles would be a dream come true for them. And a Belle-themed restaurant to boot! I can only imagine their little faces! SO excited!
Sounds like it will be amazing for them!
My fiance and I are sooo excited. We go to Disney as much as we can with our passes. He proposed to me in Disney World and we are coming back for our honeymoon in June!!!! 🙂 We cannot wait for this new expansion to open!
My husband and I were there for the One more day of Magic and we took the train which will have a stop at the new Fantasy Land. So cool to see the castle from Little Mermaid and the tents for the new Dumbo ride.
I can’t wait till this whole section is opened!! We just returned home yesterday from down there and were a little sad some of it is opening at the END of this month but im not as sad knowing when I go there next year this will probably be opened <3
Hey, it’s another reason to visit!
I can’t wait for this to be opened. Would love it if we could go there for our anniversary in December!
Keep watching the blog for future opening dates. 🙂
Can’t wait!! I have goose bumps! I feel like a little girl. Love Belle & Beast! Bring on the ADRs!
I can’t wait for this to open. I love that Disney shares all these moments with us. Being such a Disney fan, I love to see what is going on with my favorite parks. Thanks and keep up the good work 🙂
Thanks very much, Nicole. We’re all big Disney fans, and love sharing updates like this with you.
-They can sing, they can dance, after all Miss, this is France! And the dinner here is never second best! Go-on unfold your menu, take a glance and the you’ll… … … I’ve got GOOSEBUMPS!!!
That’s a good thing!
-Constance- Soup du jour, Hot hors d’oeuvres-why we only live to serve, try the grey stuff it’s delicious, don’t believe me? Ask the dishes! Imagineers are my FAVORITE people in the WORLD!!!
Walt Disney was amazing at having a vision of taking the people out of the “every day” life aspect and bring them into something more magical. This restaurant is EXACTLY a piece of that vision. So looking forward to this!
Thanks, Krystal!
I was told last month that Be Our Guest is looking to open around September. Disney Dining told me that it wasnt for sure, but thats when they were expecting it to open and I should keep checking back for more details. Just thought Id share what I had heard!
Oh goodness, i hope it is open by October because Belle is my daugthers FAVORITE. Love to celebrate her 5th Birthday there.
I’m really looking forward to taking my granddaughter to this restaurant. I know her dad and step mom will want to go. They met playing for a high school production of the musical. On another note, I am very sad that Snow White’s Scary Adventure is going away. After all, Walt’s first Oscar was for this movie. I hope the new addition to Fantasyland will include somethig to honor Snow White. I particularly love her and Belle. They were the only princesses that weren’t blonde for so many years!
Snow White will live on in the form of The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which will be a new addition to the New Fantasyland area.
What is the gray stuff everyone seems to be mentioning? I have been to WDW 3 times in the past 3 years and never saw it…lol.
BEAUTIFUL! I can’t wait to experience this restaurant with my family. We will be there June 2013. Thanks for sharing 🙂 I look forward to more photos and the menu.
Any menu sneak peeks? will we be drinking out of “Chip” like tea cups?
Not yet, but that’s something I can’t wait to share. This will be an incredible dining experience.
omg omg omg omg
I guess you like it? 🙂
This is so amazing, we will be visiting in September but I doubt this will be open by then. This is my daughter and I’s favorite movie. Every time we watch it we both sing every song. I cannot wait to bring my little girl back to see the whole expansion.
I hope we find out when this will be opening! We are going at the end of November and I would LOVE to experience this with my family! Just beautiful!
Can’t wait to see it. It looks beautiful already but then again it’s Disney nothing but the best!!!
What is the possible opening date? 2012 or 2013?
Jennifer, I’ve seen a lot of folks asking when the new FantasyLand will open, and I see mixed answers (although I could be misunderstanding the true answer). When will the entire renovation be complete? We are making the trip to Disney in December 2012, but we would like to know if the new FantasyLand will be near completion, or just near completion for the first phase. Can you explain what the “Late 2012” answer means… Does it mean that’s when EVERYTHING in the new FantasyLand will be open, or just phase 1?
The first phase (1/2 of Dumbo and Barnstormer) are scheduled to debut by the end of this month. The next phase of openings hasn’t been announced yet.
WOW! Nothing short of awesome. I’m curious if the room will come to life periodically (like the Tiki room) so they can sing me off to sleep as I digest?
Ah! Clever tie-in there!
Oh oh oh oh! I’ve been keeping tabs on this restaurant since I first learned about it (following the Parks on FB really helps a girl watch out for news). My husband knows I’ll be asking to go as soon as it opens. 🙂
I’m so excited about this, I can’t stand it!
Don’t forget about our Twitter accounts: @waltdisneyworld and @disneyparks.
My daughter will love this, Belle is her fav princess! Just make sure the beast doesn’t visit the table. 🙂
I’m so excited about this whole new area that will be opening at Magic Kingdom…I hope to be able to visit this fall or early next year to see whatever is open at that point! So excited about Be Our Guest…one of my favorite Disney movies!
Will it be on the dining plan? One table service credit or two?
I don’t have any info on this yet. I’ll keep it in mind to ask.
I’m so excited. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie!
::sigh:: I’m in love! B&tB is my favorite Disney movie. (It was the last one I watched with my Nana before she passed away)
I can’t wait to check this out. To be able to become immersed in my favorite film will certainly be a dream come true! I only wish I was still a little girl so that I could wander the park dressed as Belle. 😉 Oh well, maybe by the time she’s old enough to go my daughter will love her just as much as I do.
Oh and by the way Tim, totally made me lol! 😉
The detail is going to be amazing. I can’t wait to share another update with you all.
I am so excited! We’re getting married at the Wedding Pavilion on November 1 and we’re really, really hoping to eat at Be Our Guest while we’re there.
Will this be a character dining event? My daughter will NOT go if Beast will be there….LOL
ohhhh I hope it’ll be open when I go in March 2013!!!!!! 😀
I am so excited! Please, please give us an estimate on opening? We’re coming at the end of October and want so badly to dine here.
I don’t know yet (and it would be irresponsible for me to guess – I don’t want to let you down!). Keep watching the blog for more info and dates.
Will this be sit down or walk up? I’m also wondering if we can eat there first week of October 2012???
Forget the mural! Give me the menu!!! 🙂
I better see some gray stuff (it’s delicious)
We’ll release info on the food as soon as we can. 🙂
This looks amazing – it is stunning! Beauty & the Beast” is my all time favorite! Will there be an option to make reservations? Or is it casual dining?
It will be sit-down/quick-service for lunch and table-service for dinner.
When is Be Our Guest scheduled to open? I would love to celebrate there the day after the Wine & Dine 1/2 Marathon – Nov. 2012!
No date has been announced yet. Be sure to keep checking the blog for future updates!
My heart just melted and I swooned. I have waited so long for a part of the parks based on my favorite Disney movie and to see it coming to life like this is just amazing. I cannot wait to see the finished product 🙂
That’s so nice, Katie! I love “Beauty & The Beast,” too!
Will the menu include “the gray stuff”? I hear it’s delicious.
🙂
