We Tried & Tried to find your crew at Magic Kingdom. We were wearing Mickey nightpants with matching red shirts & black sweatshirts that spelled LEAP with matching Mickey nightcap EARS. LOVE to send you a photo of out group! (Disney’s PhotoPass has tons of us!)
My boyfriend’s mom works at Walt Disney World and she got us into Magic Kingdom to be a part of this historic day/night. Unfortunately we didn’t get to stay the entire night and eventually fell asleep on a bench near the castle lol but we had a blast and will DEFINITLEY be better prepared for the next Leap Day! 😀 My only critique is that you have better crowd control around the park, it was VERY crowded and not easy to manuever throughout Magic Kingdom.
Great pictures! Loved seeing the guy with the notebook around his neck counting the hours he’s been awake. Saw him earlier with the notebook at “2” hrs and I was wondering if we’d see him again.
Already made plans with a cousin to do the next Leap Year at the Magic Kingdom, including the half-marathon!!
This was fantastic! My mother and I flew down on Tuesday after booking the Sunday before just because! We couldn’t miss this incredible moment in Disney history–we’ve been apart of so many! The opening of WDW in 1971, the 25th, the millenium celebration, Walt’s 100.. We were there for the opening ceremonies and the brouhaha; got a commemorative button and a Leap Day t-shirt. It got a little too crowded for my taste after the fireworks, but it was awesome to be a part of it! We flew back this morning. Now I think I need a nap! Thanks, Disney for this moment in Disney history!
It was surely a historic day for Magic Kingdom. It was the first time they were ever open for 24 hours!
My wife and I went in evening. Started off with dinner at the Crystal Palace and finished with a Hoe Down in Frontier Land at 3 am. Great fun, lots of people and high energy night. I will be back in four years for sure.
A lot of people are saying they had a good time. 🙂
It was the best day I’ve EVER had at Disney!!! And I went the whole 24 hours – never left the park, never took a nap. Woo hoo!
Great pictures. There was a conga line at Disneyland as well. It went all of the way through Fantasyland! Awesome!
Happy to hear you had a good time, Todd!
I hope that Disney makes this every Leap Year.
Missed out on the party this time. Hopefully you guys will do this again in four years…..
Great photos. Did Gene take these?
