I’ve always wanted to learn the ways of the Force. Sadly I’m too old to begin the training at the Jedi Training Academy in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I did, however, recently visit the park with my friend Duffy the Disney Bear, who is old enough to participate. We are introducing a new Jedi robe costume for Duffy this spring. The costume comes complete with a t-shirt, an iconic brown robe with hood and a lightsaber that actually lights up. I spoke with Denise Edelmaier, product developer for Plush and Dolls, about the new costume.
“The Jedi Training Academy robe is adorable,” exclaimed Denise. “It continues our strategy of introducing costumes for Duffy that are directly related to experiences found only at Disney Parks.”
Denise also shared with me two new items that will be arriving later this spring. Donald Duck as Darth Maul will arrive in time for the launch of Star Wars Weekends 2012 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The plush will be released at Disneyland Resort in mid-summer. The other plush has Jedi Master Yoda wearing a Mouseketeer hat and is set to arrive this May in California and Florida.
These items will not be offered via the Disney Parks Online Store. Once released, you can contact Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Merchandise Guest Services at 1-877-560-6477 or via email – merchandiseguestservices@disney.go.com – to place an order.

Since my peppermint scented Vinylmation suggestion became a reality, may I BEG for a “Dapper Dan” Duffy costume?? That would be SO EPIC!!
@JC They sell the smaller sized Duffy in a complete St. Patrick’s Day suit.
I do like the park-themed costumes, but I also wish there were more holiday-themed costumes for Duffy. He had nothing to wear for St. Patrick’s Day! 😉
Speaking of Duffy, is there going to be some kind of passport set for him? This would be perfect for Epcot.
Jedi Duffy is so incredibly cute. I cannot wait to get that outfit for him! Will the release be sometime during Star Wars Weekend, or will it be earlier in the spring?
@Natalie – Yes. He will arrive closer to mid-Summer.
@Amy – I don’t know of any plans right now. I know they were created as action figures for a previous series of Star Wars action figures.
@Dana – Stay tuned. I have a few more articles about items for Star Wars Weekends. They won’t happen until probably April and into May.
@Kyra – Unfortunately, these items will not be offered via the Disney Parks online store. See the details above for how to order them if you aren’t visiting Disney Parks soon.
@Ellen – The Jedi robe for Duffy recently arrived at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
To say it like Yoda would, amazing these toys are!!! Will the Mickey-eared Yoda be available online? H’s awesome!!
Hi Steven: Thanks for the great Star Wars Update!!!! There are alot of SW Fans out here and we are excited for all the updates 🙂 LOVE the Jedi Duffy!!! Will there ever be any Chip and Dale merch for SWW?
Will the Donald plush also be coming to California?
You mean Duffy is YOUNG enough to participate 😀
My sister got a Duffy and she went to build-a-bear workshop store and bought Jedi costume with lightsaber at the store few days before SWW! 2011. She was getting good comment from castmember how they like Duffy in the Jedi Costume.
oh my gosh I love the Duffy Jedi! I hope there are some around when I arrive in June, at the end of SWW!!
