  • I wish this was happening at Disney World! I live on the east coast and I never get to Disneyland. It would be great to have an under the sea dining adventure over here!

  • #1 – Brendon

Have you tried The Coral Reef Restaurant at The Living Seas in Epcot?

  • I have mixed feelings about this, so where do we go to see WOC now? I wish there were more sit down type places to watch it, it’s really hard on my mom to stand for that long, anyway, the character meet and greet is always nice so I guess we’ll just do that and picnic lunch for WOC?

  • Think Brendon’s confusing the “Ariel’s Grotto” sit-down restaurant at DCA with the former “Ariel’s Grotto” themed meet-and-greet area at WDW MK–Two different things.
As for regular sit-down family dining now eliminating all non-Princess meals, well, that DID come to WDW. Twice, at MK and Epcot.

  • thats a shame. while i’m sure it will be an excellent character meal- i loved the food there especially the WOC dinner package.

  • Can you give us an update on the dining locations for the World of Color packages?

  • NO!!!!! I already have our park tickets for November and have been talking up the Ariel’s Grotto WOC dining package to the family. We really need a seated area for viewing, the dining options at Ariel’s Grotto were much more appealing to our autistic kiddos, and *gasp* does this mean no more white chocolate film strip?

All these changes really make it hard to prep autistic kids – who thrive on routine and knowing what to expect.

It’s going to be a loooong family meeting 🙁

  • I think people are confused. There was never really a place except for the Cove Bar which chared $10 to watch World of Color. These dinning options offered a FASTPASS to a designated standing section to watch the show. In each area of the sections there are places for people to sit if needed and Cast Members can help you with that.

Right now there are the Picnic packages and Wine Country Trattoria as dinning options for World of Color.

  • This is a sad day, this was one of the best meals anywhere in the resort. The designated viewing was a bounus. I sure hope they re-think this or provide an alternate with the same menu…..please!!

  • Ariel’s Grotto used to host a Princess dinner, before World of Color opened. This seems to be a return to that format. I note the date of June 15, coincides with the opening of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street. My guess is that the new sit-down Restaurant in the Carthay Circle theatre might provide the second dining option for WOC dining packages with the premium seating.

  • I remember this was a charater dinner dining experience (not sure what year). Well my first time taking my daughter to Ariel’s Grotto it was Mickey’s character dinning we had so much fun seeing Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and various others. The menu was amazingly good and had a cotton candy dessert. It was not orininally Princes themed that happend two years later to my surprise and had been that way ever since. It was only recently when WOC arrived that the princess dinner dining went away. There menu has changed I remember missing the cotton candy table dessert that they brought this was to be shared. Change is good but I sure missed the character dining that was there before. Memories of my daughter doing the conga with Mickey and Minnie all around the restuarant and out on the deck.

  • I love Ariel!! I was at a character breakfast at Akershus in Epcot’s Norway, and met her there. I cried afterward:)

  • I am saddened by this news. I really love the dinner you get with the WOC dining package. Do we really need another character meal? I miss the old days when California Adventure was a little bit more adult-oriented. My husband and I love Disneyland, but it would be wonderful if there was just one place to escape from all the children, at least for a little while.
