One of my favorite places for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack time, coffee time – any time, really – is Jolly Holiday Bakery Café at Disneyland park. From the sandwiches and sweets to the enchanting details, it has quickly become a guest favorite. But no matter how many times you stop by for a treat, you’ll always find new details you never noticed before. In the video below, Jonathan Peters from Walt Disney Imagineering shows us some of the special touches at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café.

LOVE the “chalk drawing” mosaics!
My best friend and I went to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and that was the first place that we went to! I love the decor of the Jolly Holiday, I think the cast members kept smiling at me because I kept saying to my friend (in a very audible voice) things like “Omg that’s so cute!” and “Look, look, look!” I was like a kid in a candy shop fascinated by the detail and decoration of the place! Its my new favorite place to get a cinnamon roll! And I love how the Cast members hold up a penguin card to show that they’re ready for the next guest!
Some unique hidden Mickeys also. Love the new cafe and much easier to get through the line than our old favorite, Blue Ribbon Bakery.
We just spent the weekend going to the Disneyland Park both days and each day we used the Jolly Holiday to take care of our appetites, all at different times of the day. Sunday afternoon was especially nice with a nice table on the upper level and viewing of the Parade while we enjoyed our food. The Mickey Shaped Chocolate Tart is amazing. Can not wait to get back, it has become our favorite place and hats off to WDI on the art and architecture, it makes the food that much more special.
I’m IN LOVE with the wallpaper. I’d like to buy it for my home, but I can’t find it anywhere… 🙁 I wonder if it was custom-designed for the park, or if it’s for sale somewhere. If anyone can offer any help, I’d really appreciate it! 🙂
Love the details Disney puts into everything they do. Great job of using the existing space and turning it into something awesome. I finally got to eat at the Jolly Holiday when DL was open for 24 hours. Great place to put your feet up, and I loved the food. Will def be going back!
Walt Disney Imagineer, my dream job. I just love the idea of creating great places where people can enjoy themselves and bask in all the attention to detail. I hope to work there soon 😀
Finally a place to grab a snack after the park closes. You guys were just giving money away but not feeding hungry folks at the end of the Disney Day.
Rachel–
The Plaza Inn is still there. The new Jolly Holiday cafe is on the west side of Main Street, the Plaza Inn is on the east side, so it didn’t get affected at all.
My family and I were just in Disneyland as well in the beginning of February and we enjoyed the jolly holiday very much. We had some yummy sandwiches and while we were eating outside the chef came to our table and asked how everything was and we just had really great service!
does this mean that the plaza inn is no longer there or are both restaurants now in the same building
I love the penguin stain glass windows too. Are reproductions available for sale? I would really love to have one.
So great to see that building be used again. YAY! More yummies for my tummy.
Just loved our last visit. This cafe fits perfect and feels like it has been here all along. Thanks Disney for creating perfection again.
Mike, maybe it was a fluke that day. They do have the sticky buns!
Is there any chance they would sell reproductions of the Penguin window? It is a beautiful piece of “just makes me happy inside” art!
My girlfriend and I are visiting Disneyland for her birthday in about a week and a half, and having a breakfast or two here is definitely on the agenda! It looks fantastic and I can’t wait to see it in person.
I enjoyed the soup and cheese sandwich and the apple pie, but I miss the sticky buns! Not available at the resort at all, as far as I know…here’s hoping they’re available when Buena Vista Street opens!
I love all of the little details that Imagineers always put into their work!
I love this place, the decor is great!
Visited DLR for five days in Feb. with my husband and our 2 small children. We were beyond excited to finally visit the new Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe and it did not disappoint. In fact, we dined there twice during our stay! The cafe itself is absolutely charming. Nothing was spared in terms of detail to entertain and delight the eye. The Mary Poppins-themed music playing in the background is a wonderful touch. And let’s not forget about the food! The food was GOOD– nice variety, fresh, healthy options, very flavorful. Definitely looking forward to returning to the Jolly Holiday when we return to Disneyland in the fall.
Wish we could find it that empty. Always lined up.
