Last month, I announced the release of a special Duffy The Disney Bear T-shirt for Mother’s Day. This month, we are releasing a shirt to celebrate Father’s Day. The shirt was designed by Disney Design Group artist Monty Maldovan and, considering I enjoy wearing ties, I love it! The shirt will be released on June 7 at Disney Traders at Epcot and World of Disney in Downtown Disney Marketplace. As with the Mother’s Day shirt, there are limited quantities of the shirt being added to existing 17-inch bears. Retail for this item will be $30.00 (plus tax).
Duffy will also receive a few new costumes toward the end of 2012. Here is a first look at two new outfits for the 17-inch bear, including Peter Pan and the Mad Hatter. I spoke with Monty about his inspiration for these costume designs.
“For the costumes, I wanted to capture what guests see when visiting Disney Parks,” explained Monty. “The Peter Pan costume has bright colors and is very playful, similar to the character of Peter Pan. The Mad Hatter costume is a mixture of the outfit seen in the animated film and the in-park costume.”
I’m happy to announce that the two Vinylmation Duffy The Disney Bear figures will be released via the official Vinylmation Facebook store starting on Friday, June 22. They will be released at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort on June 29.
To celebrate the release of these figures, Monty will be making a special appearance at Treasures in Paradise in Disney California Adventure park on June 29 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you go, I’d love to see your photos, which you can post on the official Facebook page for Duffy.

@Amanda – Thank you! At this time, we are only focusing on Duffy the Disney Bear at the Disney Parks in the United States.
I know ShellieMay is currently in Tokyo Disney Resort. If you plan on going to Japan, please take me with you! I can’t wait to visit the Resort again as it has been more than 10 years since I was last there. Amazing place!
@Jessica – The outfits I showed are due to arrive later in 2012. I don’t have an ETA at this time. The Vinylmation figures will also be released at Disneyland and Walt Disney World on June 29.
Can’t wait for the Duffy vinylmation! It is really cute and will fit in nicely with my nautical themed bedroom.

@Jessica – There will be a new 17-inch bear costume for Halloween and a few more unique items. Look for another article later this summer.
I am so excited about the Duffy vinyls! These will be my first Vinylmations, and they’re being released on my birthday! I’ll be at the parks anyways, but this just makes it so much more special! I can’t wait!
We love Duffy! Just bought it for our 7 month old daughter while we were there. Our next trip will be in November for her 1st birthday. Any idea if there will be a food and wine outfit this year?
@Paul – Congrats on the birth of your daughter! Yes, there will be a Duffy for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. I know there will also be a pin. Look for a post about the festival in the coming weeks.
Hi. I am Paul’s Mother-In-Law. I was with my daughter when she bought the Fathers Day Duffy. Also bought The Canadian outfit, as my son-in-law was born in Canada. I would love to Get The Mothers Day Duffy for my daughter since it was her first Mothers Day. Any ideas where I could get one? We tried to locate one in Disney but had no luck.
Also, will the Food and Wine Fest offer an outfit for the 17″ Duffy, or a 12″ Duffy dressed already?

@Barbara – Unfortunately, the Mother’s Day 2012 shirt is no longer being offered. It was a limited time offer for the holiday back in May. We stopped selling them after the holiday was over. The Food and Wine Festival bear will be a pre-dressed 12-inch bear. Look for an image of him coming soon to the Disney Parks Blog.
hello,we usually go to disneyland california every year,but this year we can not,i was wondering where i can get a 2012 duffy bear for Mum who is recovering from surgery,I live in Sydney,Australia.
Duffy was a highlight last year and my Duffy bear has been all over Sydney,i would love to collect all the years now.
