From the Ground Up at Disney California Adventure Park

It’s been nearly three years since the groundbreaking of Cars Land on that hot July day back in 2009. This video shows a time-lapse of Cars Land from the ground to nearly finished. It’s a reminder of how far we’ve come and how close we are to opening! Enjoy!

Tune in to the Disney Parks Blog Wednesday, June 13, at 8 p.m. PT for a LIVE webcast of the Cars Land Media Event! And keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and Disney California Adventure park on Facebook, and follow @Disneyland on Twitter for complete coverage of all events this week at Disney California Adventure park! While you’re on Twitter, join in the conversation by using the hashtags #CarsLand, #BuenaVistaStreet, #MadTParty and #JustGotHappier.

  • I’d just like to thank all of the amazing construction crews and engineers for having such excellent craftsmanship and replicating the visions of the imagineers so well. Everything at Disneyland is truly a work of art.

  • Was there for the AP event and WOW… Cars land is AMAZING.. thats really all i can say to describe it. Its like nothing Disney has ever created. it literally gave me goosebumps.

  • Went to AP preview event and LOOOVED it. The food was great, the rides so much fun (Luigis broke down, but I’m sure the imagineers are working out bugs). Can’t say enough good stuff about it. RS Racers….new favorite ride.

  • Will there be a chance to watch the recorded webcast at a later time? I will be at work, sadly. Also, will the re-dedication on Friday be streamed as well?

  • I thought the Live Webcast was at 6pm PT, but now it says 8pm PT. Which is correct as I don’t want to miss it? Thanks.

  • I Like the part where the tree goes up and then the leaves grow. I would also like to know if I can buy some gas at Flos? .63/gallon I will buy all you have! Thanks!

  • I’m really looking forward to seeing this. I haven’t been to Disneyland & California Adventure since around 2003 and my wife has never been there. (We live in MA and visit WDW regularly.) I just surprised her by booking a week long trip to California for her birthday (7/3) and the 4th. We’re spending the first half of the week at Disney, then on the 5th we’re heading up to San Francisco for a few days (I used to live in Berkeley). I’m not sure which of us is more excited.

  • Isn’t California Adventure open June 13 at 8 PM? Will park guests be able to watch the webcast live at the park?
