Beginning this November, guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park will be able to enjoy a new nighttime projection show on Cinderella Castle. “Celebrate the Magic” will incorporate favorite elements from the current show, “The Magic, The Memories and You!,” with all-new music, storytelling and special effects.
The 'Celebrate the Magic' Nighttime Show Is Coming to Magic Kingdom Park

“‘Celebrate the Magic’ takes us on a journey to the heart of the most beloved Disney stories and characters,” said Show Director Katy Harris. “This amazing show will magically transform Cinderella Castle with spectacular projection effects, choreographed to a new music soundtrack. The show will be full of emotion and storytelling, proving that, with imagination and magic in our hearts, anything is possible.”

“The Magic, The Memories and You!” will be presented for the last time on Labor Day, September 3, at both Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland park. While “Celebrate the Magic” will be exclusive to Magic Kingdom Park, Disneyland Resort guests can look forward to the return of “it’s a small world” holiday later this year, as well as the debut of a new live entertainment experience in the Fantasyland Theatre, opening in summer 2013.

  • Aww I wish I could see it. I went to DW for my first time in March of this year 2012, and I loved it so much I had to go back….I know I’m 43years old and never been. Anyway my daughter & I are going again in October 2012. Now I have to make another trip so I could see Celebrate The Magic…I cant wait!!

  • Wow…I’m really regretting that I booked our trip for November 1st! When I booked it, I was guessing (incorrectly) that New Fantasyland would surely be opened by then. Now it sounds like I will be missing this, as well. Dagnabbit!

  • It look amazing. Wish it can have fountains.

  • Is it premiering live?

  • While the DL version of MMY was never as showy or impressive as seeing MMY projected on Cinderella’s Castle in WDW, the music and sentiment of the show never failed to touch me, as a parent and as someone who grew up loving every minute I spent at Disneyland. I am sad to hear that MMY is leaving DL and won’t be updated/replaced. I understand well the need to remember Walt Disney’s proclamation that as long as there is creativity, Disneyland will never be complete. There is a constant need to make room for new stories, new music, new adventures. But MMY was a wonderful, sweet moment in the day, almost a secret goodie that was missed by so many guests. Wonderful music, terrific storytelling, it just made you want to grab your kid or your sweetie and hug them, to hold on to the moment for just a tad longer. Getting to the park before the show closes won’t be happening for me, so I will just have to hold on to my memories. Wishing on a star that someone will hear my hope to release a recording of the wonderful music, and the music for World of Color (now THAT is something that perplexes me entirely!). Thanks for the memories! And here is to many more!

  • Why doesn’t Disney offer Night of Joy at the Disneyland park in California? Very sad, as we have moved from Florida to California… we always loved this event so much!

  • The new show sounds awesome! 🙂 I can’t wait to see it! Honestly, my favorite part of MMY was the projections and the castle transformations, and it sounds like that concept will be incorporated into the new show. Since the photos were so small, I couldn’t ever see myself in them anyway. LOL!

I was originally going to visit the parks in October, but we rescheduled our trip to December, so we could see the grand opening of the New Fantasyland. This is one more reason that I’m glad we changed our trip!

  • I believe someone already asked this, but any chance on the music being released for the MMY? I love that song and would love to be able to listen to it at home. 🙂

  • This might sound terrible, but I haven’t been to DW in 6 years and it was 10 before that and I don’t really care what show there is – I’m just going to be happy to be there and see one! I do feel bad for those of you going in September/October and not being able to see any. Going in December and just looking forward to everything. The new show sounds amazing and can’t wait to see it.

  • Hi everyone! I see many of you are excited to know the opening date for “Celebrate the Magic.” With all the variables that could come into play on any new project, it’s difficult to pin down an exact date. The team has told me, though, that they expect it to be mid-November.

  • Would this show be Disneyland Paris Dreams inspired ??

  • I’m getting really annoyed about how much is closed during my trip in Sept/Oct. It feels like there’s actually less to do than the last time I went. 🙁

  • That’s too bad, we will miss that too! We leave 11/3, I wish we had known earlier that everything was going to happen in November. Any chance “celebrate the magic” will take place starting November 1st? 😉

  • Does that mean the castle wont be lit wraped in lights this year for christmas? that is my favorite thing to see while im down there. this will be my 5 trip in 6 years just for that. all the way down from wisconsin.

  • Will there still be fireworks? We booked the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise for January specifically to have an interesting viewing of the fireworks!

  • I am sad to see “The Magic, Memories, and You” go! Thank goodness I have this music!!!
And I am kinda glad the pictures are leaving because they were hard to see and I never paid attention to them, I wanted to see the transformation of the castle!

I wonder if this is a introduction to a new promotion? Ending “Let the Memories Begin”? Because that was the song.

But all in all, I am excited for a better new show!! 😀

  • Will this start November 1 or just some time in November?

  • This makes me quite sad. I’ve been saving and saving my money so I could see ‘The Magic, The Memories, and You’ and now I’m coming one month too late to see it EVER.

  • Wow I am really starting to regret picking October for our trip…first we miss free dining, then we miss the Fantasyland expansion, now we miss this too 🙁 There’s still obviously TONS OF STUFF to look forward to but I’m disappointed that there’s such a large gap of time between ‘The Magic, The Memories and You’ ending and ‘Celebrate the Magic’ beginning. Oh well, better luck next trip!

  • May be too early to ask this but do you know if they will show this at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party before Holiday Wishes?

  • Sounds wonderful – one more reason I am looking forward to our November trip!

  • Oooh will this be anything like the amazing Disney Dreams at Disneyland Paris?

  • Oh man, I’m going at the end of September and I’ll miss not having “The Magic, The Memories and You!”, especially since the new show won’t debut until November! 🙁

  • Well drats! I was really looking forward to MMY as this will be my first trip back to Disney in over 16 years and the first real vacation my 22 yr old and I are finally getting to take together. Sad Mom 🙁

  • I had no idea the Small World version of this show at Disneyland was still playing. I had never seen it actually even though I’m an AP and visit the parks monthly, but I thought it ended in 2011.

But I just LOVE the march of the toy soldiers show they do on the Small World facade for Christmas! That’s one show I always catch and am happy it is staying around again for the 15th year of Small World Holiday!

  • I am glad to see so many exciting things will be happening in time for my May honeymoon! Haven’t been to Disney since Jan.2011 so all these updates to the park will make it feel like “a whole new (Disney)world!” 😉

  • So sad to see ‘The Magic, the memories, and you’ go, I always cry because it’s just so amazing. Is the soundtrack to that available anywhere to download?

  • Dang! I am planning on being there in Disneyland the first week of October and was hoping to see Magic, Memories and you.

  • I’m devastated that the Magic, the Memories, and You is leaving the WDW resort. It was so emotional to see families and the experiences that we all share that make the Magic Kingdom so memorable. Losing that aspect but adding the movies won’t make the new show as meaningful. I cried every time I watched MM&Y. I have to agree with Mandy that Walt at the end is so touching and what a way to end your night at Disney….

  • While I’m excited to see the new show, I’m also really sad to see “The Magic, Memories and You” go away so quickly. Showing photos of the guests was such a unique touch, and a fantastic way of making us feel like an important part of the magic. The collage of Walt at the end giving the Disneyland opening speech always brings me to tears and is such a beautiful metaphor. I really hope the new show will find a way to incorporate guest memories/photos/videos. It’s always great to see families making magical memories together and it really is the best Disney marketing out there!

    • Mandy – That Walt moment always got me, too!

  • WOW Cool! I can´t wait to see this!!, This change will also be able to incorporate the glow with the show ears?

  • Can’t wait to see it in January! Just wish they would bring Spectromagic back…..

  • What date will the new show begin? I caught MMY in March 2011 and loved it. I am looking forward to the new show and hoping it will have started by the time I get to WDW on November 15.

  • Sounds exciting. Question: Will this show be shown before the park closes to regular guests on Very Merry Christmas Party nights?

    • Jim – The entertainment schedule for that time period has not yet been established. Check back when it gets closer to November.

  • When will this premiere? We return home on 11/16, which appears we are missing ALL of the new offerings.

  • Sounds really cool! Any chance they will incorporate the Glow with the Show Mickey ears in to this show?? That would be amazing!!

  • Awwww I’m really sad to hear Magic Memories and You is closing!!! Is there any possibilty of a DVD or CD release of the show? That song was truly beautiful and I wish I could have it to listen with my kids someday….

  • Anjanette and Eric – While we will be between Cinderella Castle projection shows during September and October, you will still be able to enjoy nighttime spectaculars like “Wishes” and the Main Street Electrical Parade at the Magic Kingdom, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot and Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

  • Will the new show still include Photopass photos?

    • Alison and Kaleigh – The inclusion of Guest photos was a unique aspect of “The Magic, The Memories and You!” “Celebrate the Magic” will take a different approach, focusing on our emotional connection to some of Disney’s most magical film moments and memorable characters.

  • So will there be any night time show in September?

  • Really looking forward to the new show. The last show was great so this has to be even better. Just hoping we catch it whilst visiting from Nov 2 to Nov 16.

  • Sweet! Will photopass photos still be included in the show and can we please please PLEASE incorporate the light up ears that Disneyland has? 🙂

  • Sounds great! Can’t wait.

  • Heartbroken about “The Magic, The Memories, and You!” ending prior to my trip and we won’t be able to catch “Celebrate the Magic”. I am going to Disney World in October with my nieces and was looking forward to seeing their reactions to it.

  • Will this be showing by Nov. 1? It would be a kind guesture to those travelling in Oct. and early Nov. to have this show up and running as soon as possible, since those travelling at that time will miss out on the Fantasyland opening. 😉

  • So, no nighttime show at all for our October trip? Bummer. 🙁

  • Do you think this new show will be playing by November 14th?

  • I think that is great for WDW but for DL we need to do something with all that time the show team put into its a small world. One of the only reasons why DL MMY does not do so well is because it is at the back of the park in not in the center.

  • Sounds amazing! Do you have an idea of when in November? We will be there 11/1-11/10 so we are already missing the new Fantasyland attractions. Fingers crossed we get to see this!

  • This is exciting! November is going to be an exciting month for the Magic Kingdom!

    • I’m excited, too, Chris! The team is planning some fun surprises for this new show.
