Who doesn’t love watching the creative ways that members of the U.S. Armed Forces are surprising their loved ones upon their return home from a tour of duty?
Earlier this week, SPC Scott Halquist of St. Cloud, Florida, reunited with his children right here at the American Adventure attraction in Epcot. After Voices of Liberty finished their performance, Halquist was announced as a surprise special guest – to the wide-eyed delight of his children Joshua, 2; Jack, 7; and Grace, 8.
Scott’s wife, Amy, worked with Walt Disney World Resort cast members to help arrange the surprise reunion for their family.
Now, is it just me, or is little 2-year-old Joshua the cutest thing ever as he jumped up and down waiting for his daddy?

Wow – what a great story! On a side note, the lady in green in the front row and her husband in the black tank top sat right in front of us last time we were there as well. Only reason I noticed was from a home video we were watching the other night. What a small world. No pun intended…
Ok, can someone please pass a tissue! I love these kinds of stories….our soliders deserve so much thanks and when you combine that with Disney, well, I cry. Thank you SPC Scott Halquist for your service….and to his wife and adorable kids, thank you also for your sacrifice in not having him around everyday. May you have a magical, joy filled time reconnecting with him!
When you see a moment like this you can’t help but be thankful for all that men and women like Scott and his family sacrifice!! Thank you Disney for your help in making this day for Grace, Jack, and Joshua.
