We’ve got a fun new look at New Fantasyland today, courtesy of our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering.

This really is the largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom Park, with several new attractions and experiences set to debut December 6. For reference, the area on the left is occupied by Enchanted Tales With Belle, Beast Castle (which houses Be Our Guest Restaurant), and Belle’s Village, which includes Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts. The rockwork on the right becomes Prince Eric’s Castle, which houses Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid and Ariel’s Grotto character greeting. Toward the end of the video, framework for the Seven Dwarf Mine Train, which brings a whole new “Disney Mountain” to the park, rises up in the center.

Now that you’ve seen the breadth of the expansion, which attraction are you most looking forward to experiencing?

  • Ariel’s castle looks amazing!

  • Thanks for answering me. I do have to mention one thing. While we were there (Aug 20-Sep 2) I must say that every single restroom that I used in all of the parks and resorts were absolutely spotless and looked brand new (aside from the regular water splashes on counters) like they were installed that very week! And in general, I was hard-pressed to find anywhere around any of the parks that looked like it needed attention, maintenance wise. All of Disneyworld’s maintenance crews should be commended!

  • This is so cool! I can’t tell you how excited I am for the Grand Opening!!!!!!

    • Me, too. 🙂

  • Amazing!

How many pictures taken for that time lapse?

  • I, too LOVE time lapse videos! Thanks for posting it.

    • You’re welcome!

  • Very cool. Can’t wait to see the finished product. We were there at the end on August. What are they building between Small World and Liberty Square (where the Skyride used to be)?

    • They are widening walkways and putting in additional restroom facilities there.

  • What a fantastic time to be a new Florida resident! I cannot wait for the unveiling!!

  • Love the time-lapse videos! Amazing to see how the landscape of Fantasyland has changed so dramatically. I also imagine how the next generation of Disney enthusiasts will look back on these videos 20 years from now, just as we do with early Walt Disney World construction videos today! Thanks for sharing!
