Earlier this year, I shared that we soon will welcome Earl of Sandwich to the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. I know many of you will share my excitement that official Grand Opening Ceremony is set for November 2! We are thrilled since this is the only Earl of Sandwich location in California, and we have many guests eagerly anticipating this new location.
Construction is almost complete, and then comes the fun part – testing out all those delicious sandwiches. Known as the “World’s Greatest Hot Sandwich,” the Earl of Sandwich was created by a direct descendent of John Montague, the earl who invented the sandwich in 1792. Each day, the restaurant bakes fresh artisan bread and roasts meats using traditional family recipes. The restaurant will offer 14 different sandwiches, all priced at $6.99, including The Original 1792, pictured here, with roast beef, sharp cheddar cheese and creamy horseradish.

My daughter and I ate there on opening day Monday, October 29th. Our first time eating at Earl of Sandwich, very good sandwiches. I hope they come to the Chicago-area where we live.
went on sunday and had a breakfast sandwich..ham and cheese..it was fine. Next time I’ll go for lunch.
I’m looking forward to it…love a good sandwich! As I recall, it was originally scheduled to open in early summer 2012 and I was wondering what happened, still don’t know but it seems like it’s for sure this time. 🙂

I can’t wait to see if it will be as good as the one in Disneyland Paris’s Disney Village, it was one of the only few places to get good food at a price to match when we were there a week ago. I’ve never been to one in the states
yay! no more driving to vegas just for earls sandwiches! 4hrs drive vs 20mins drive. Downtown Disney for the win!!!

The Earl of Sandwich is a must-visit restaurant on my trips to Walt Disney World. I love that they’ll now be available at the Disneyland Resort as well!

I admit, I was a little sad to see the Compass Books store go, but this sounds like a very good replacement.

This is excellent news. If anyone can confirm a soft opening, please let us know! We are going to be at DL for Halloween and my husband and I LOVE eating at The Earl of the yummiest Sandwiches on Earth! 😉
