Now that all you Epcot fans have had a few weeks to recover from celebrating Epcot history at the park’s 30th anniversary festivities, let’s take a look forward at what’s next for the park. We have an update to share on Test Track – Presented by Chevrolet, which will celebrate a milestone in its construction this week as it unveils its new exterior to guests.
As you can see from this image, the attraction’s color scheme has been changed from a yellow-and-black checkerboard pattern to a sleek, bold blue design that incorporates smaller icon designs that guests will encounter within the attraction. (And I think I spy at least one nod to Epcot history here. Anyone else?).
The attraction’s new marquee, which Walt Disney Imagineer Melissa Jeselnick unveiled here on the Disney Parks Blog back in August, also reflects a sleek automotive-inspired design.
As a reminder, the reimaged Test Track will officially open this Dec. 6. For more on the attraction’s new storyline, technology and more, don’t miss these previous blog posts:

december 6?!?! wow…new fantasy land or new test track?
Great idea! I love how you are keeping a great attraction around but giving it a new, modern day feel so Epcot truly stays futuristic!
Coming from the Motor City, I always felt proud going thru the Test Track attraction. Loved looked at the pics from the Milford Proving Ground a stones throw from me. Many fun times on this ride. Can’t wait for the new one. 17 days till Disney but who’s counting?
What is that blue blob on the marquee supposed to be?
Looks good! I love the old Icon, hope to see more of those in Future World.
Be there in December also, can’t wait. And I agree with others, bring back some of those great icons of Future World.
I always hoped they give this ride a new look with the same thrill that it has always given. Can’t wait to visit in my next trip all the new tracks one can create in the new world of Test Track.
But one question, will we still be able to get our ride photo using the photopass?
Hmm, let me look into this.
I’m going to WDW for the Grand Opening of the Fantasyland Expansion, but I think we’re sticking to MK, since it’s a short trip. I’ll have to wait until January to see Test Track!
I’ve asked this before, but I don’t think I got an answer. Do you know if the new Test Track will still incorporate Crash Test Dummies, the hot room, or the cold room? I’m a big fan of Kingdom Keepers, so I’ll miss these elements if they’re gone.
This is soooo exciting!!! We arrive Dec. 8th for a nine day vacation at WDW. I can’t believe we will be able to see all the new attractions! We planned this vacation a year ago before we knew any opening dates. Can’t believe our good luck! Can’t wait to see this new look on Test Track.
That is very lucky, Amanda. I hope you have a great trip.
Awesome! I love the New Test Track and I can’t wait to ride it in Dec 7, 2012! Test Track is Now my Favorite ride in EPCOT!
I hope you like the changes. Should be fun!
I spy the old circular World of Motion Icon on the “TT” banner. I would love to see WDI incorporate all those old logos back into the marquees around Future World!
Any word from Bill McKim?
We will be there the week after Thanksgiving. Hope they will have a soft opening while we are there. The changes look great and we can’t wait to ride the new Test Track!
Best of luck, Steve, and enjoy your trip. Should be some nice holiday decor up by the time you’re here, too.
YAY! I love the World of Motion symbol being there!
I spy the “World of Motion” pavilion Logo 😉
🙂
Looks like I see the World of Motion symbol on the blue sign!! I miss that ride, but my 5 yr old can’t wait until Test Track reopens…we have to walk over and “check” every time we are there!!
Dec. 6 is a good bet. 🙂
I can’t wait to see it! I’m super excited to ride it, too, when it reopens. So many exciting things happening at Disney!
Any word yet on the soft opening? We arrive in less than a month and are hopeful that we’ll get to experience Test Track.
Awesome! We arrive Dec.8. Just in time to check it out! I can’t wait!!
