Disney Fantasy Decorated for First Holiday Season

Hi Disney Parks Blog fans, I’m Ray, cruise director on the Disney Fantasy, writing to you from the warm waters of Castaway Cay. I’ve been with Disney Cruise Line for 11 years, and I was lucky enough to join the crew of the Disney Fantasy for the ship’s inaugural year. (You may recognize me from the Disney Fantasy video journals as the ship crossed the Atlantic Ocean after being built in Germany!)

It’s the Disney Fantasy’s first holiday season, and guests and crew alike are excited about all of the holiday festivities taking place this month and next. When guests arrived to the ship this week, they were welcomed with a very special surprise – the ship decked to the “raft-ers” with holiday cheer!

Check out this fun video as Santa’s elves worked quickly to put up the 20-foot-tall Christmas tree in the Disney Fantasy’s atrium lobby:

You’ll get to see other décor throughout the ship in upcoming posts from Disney Parks Blog author Jonathan Frontado, who will be sharing more about the Disney Fantasy’s first holiday season.

I imagine there’s a good amount of relaxing going on at Castaway Cay today after our extravagant Thanksgiving feast last night. But I also imagine there’s a good bit of joy being spread since guests were greeted on the island with a beautiful Christmas tree, “snow flurries,” holiday island music and their favorite Disney friends in holiday attire!

The Disney Dream also got her holiday makeover this week, and the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic are ready to be decorated this weekend. Do you share the Disney cruise tradition of decorating for the holidays this week?
