Splitsville Almost Ready to ‘Roll In and Rock Out’ at Walt Disney World Resort

Construction has been underway on the new Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Downtown Disney for several months now, and I bet you’ve been wondering how things are going over there.

Me too.

So, I decided to pop by there the other day to check out the place and find out firsthand what’s going on behind those construction walls. Splitsville founders Guy Revelle and Mark Gibson, two of the driving forces behind the project, suited me up in a hard hat, vest and safety glasses and allowed me to take a look around. Afterwards, they talked to me about what we can all expect when the doors to the place are finally swung open.

I was really interested in what they had to say. I thought you would be too, so we shot this video of them talking about everything from the construction process to the excitement surrounding the greatly anticipated grand opening later this year.

Sorry, I could only show you a little of the actual venue right now because there’s still some construction going on (some of the video you’ll see includes renderings and video from their Tampa location), but I’ll definitely have a full video tour for you once we get a little closer to the grand opening. Be sure to check back here regularly for more updates from me, in particular when I announce the official grand opening date.

  • I can’t wait to go here even though its said to “Not be your fathers bowling alley” I can’t wait to go because bowling was my Dads’ passion He passed away in 2000 but the fondest memories are of bowling He coached the kids league that all five of us kids grew up in There was a professional bowler that lived down the block from us back then Mike Lemongello (Sp?) in North Babylon NY and I think Daddy secretly thought he would get a professional out of one of us. 😉 whenever I get to go I will wear his coaching shirt in his honor..kept it all these years…and I know he’ll be smiling

  • This sounds like a lot of fun! We always have a few extra days built into our trips, for rainy days or non-park activities. We might need to dedicate one of them to bowling!

Robert, where did you hear about December 7th? If that’s true, it seems like EVERYTHING is opening on December 6th or 7th! I wonder why there are so many grand openings at one time?

  • I use to bowl all the time. I cannot wait for this venue to arrive at Downtown Disney. Looking forward to it so much.

  • very cool

  • I really hope this is open the first week of December when I am there! My son and I have been waiting for this since they first announced that they were building it! It just looks so cool!

  • Looks like a great place? does anyone know if this venue plans to host the USBC national bowling tournament? I hope so!

  • Grand opening? You mean December 7th? When you have a scheduled media event for “Splitsville Grand Opening” there?

  • “You’ve got a tremendous second-level patio, which looks back down towards Pleasure Island …”

Something you’re not telling us? There’s not much of Pleasure Island to look back down towards any more. Is Hyperion Wharf still happening, or is Pleasure Island coming back?

  • Can’t wait!! We love to bowl and we have been to Splitsville in Tampa!
