Just to whet your appetite, here are renderings of the new California Grill dining room and onstage kitchen, set to open in late summer. Designed by the Puccini Group in San Francisco, the spacious restaurant atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort will feature a wall of wines at the entrance and, of course, spectacular views from every table.
The grill closes February 1, but Chef Brian Piasecki will continue creating new dishes for the menu. We’ll share more as the renovation moves along.

I can’t wait to see the new restaurant! My husband and I have eaten there several times and the food is delicious (please don’t get rid of the teriyaki BBQ filet!). The service is always wonderful as well. My only complaint in recent years is that not everyone respects the dress code- I’ve seen too many tank tops for a place that supposedly doesn’t permit them. But we will definitely be back when CG reopens.

When are the renovations expected to be finished and the Grill reopened?
Looks great – ive been trying to book the contemporary resort for my trip there with the family in March but I cant get any availability. Gutted as its my 15th visit and ive never stayed there. As a kid I loved going through the atrium ont he monorail… still do!
One of our favorite place to eat in all of the Disneyland / World Resorts. (2nd only to Ohana’s) Awesome views of MK.
