I recently learned a fun fact from Patrice Guy, merchandiser for consumables at Disney Theme Park
Merchandise. The Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom Park is the most popular destination for consumables in all of Walt Disney World Resort. This location is also home to an on-stage kitchen where cast members make a delicious assortment of goods for guests each day (I’ll take a chocolate covered pineapple spear please). I drew the tough assignment of visiting this original Magic Kingdom Park location for a look at how some of that sweet magic is made.
You can also find these and other delicious treats at our other consumables destinations including
Goofy’s Candy Company in Downtown Disney Marketplace; Candy Cauldron in Downtown Disney West Side; Beverly Sunset Sweet Spells in Disney’s Hollywood Studios; and our newest location, Big Top Treats inside Big Top Souvenirs in the Storybook Circus area of New Fantasyland.

@Joanna – I used to work in the Confectionery kitchen and it was probably the most fun job I’ve ever had! You don’t need any kind of previous training – they teach you everything. Oh, and here’s a fun little tidbit: Sure, you can get caramel apples at Goofy’s Candy Co. and the Candy Cauldron, etc, but if you want the BEST one on Disney property, get it at the Confectionery. Why? Two words: HOMEMADE caramel! Yum!
Hi, Steven!
Can you share with us–what kind of training/background is needed to get involved in a job like this? It seems like a REALLY COOL career option!
Thanks! 🙂
I looove the smells and all that you can watch! Cannot wait to return this fall!
One of my favorite places and my dream job when I retire!!
I love the Confectionery! A trip to Disney World isn’t complete for me until I buy my three caramel apples with M&Ms to bring home.
