The secret is out! Disney Cruise Line is returning to Europe and Alaska in 2014 – with brand new destinations – and offering Southern Caribbean cruises from Puerto Rico for the first time ever!
There are several new itinerary options for the Mediterranean sailings, so I’ll follow up with a second post tomorrow including more details. For now, I’ll cover the highlights…
From May to August 2014, the Disney Magic will sail four-, five-, seven-, nine- and 12-night cruises in the Mediterranean, including new destinations in the Greek Isles and Sicily for the very first time.
Also new for the 2014 European season, we will use Venice, Italy, as a homeport for select sailings. During these cruises, the Disney Magic overnights in Venice, giving guests the opportunity to experience an evening in the spectacular city.

Other big news is that for the first time ever, we will homeport in Puerto Rico. The Disney Magic will sail seven-night cruises to the Southern Caribbean, departing September 20, September 27, October 4, and October 11 from San Juan and visiting Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados and St. Kitts.
And finally, the Disney Wonder will return to Alaska for another summer season, sailing seven-night cruises from Vancouver to Tracy Arm fjord, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. Plus, we added one special nine-night sailing that includes a stop at Sitka, departing May 24.
Whew! That was a lot of new info! We’ll be giving you more details, photos and videos over the coming weeks – so stay tuned! Which one of these new itineraries are you most excited about?

Glad to hear all the exciting news!! Very excited for some of these new ports – particularly the Venice and Greek Isles cruises. When are these itineraries able to be booked? We’re Platinum Castaway Club members, so I think we get a ‘head start’…wondering when that begins. Thanks!!
When can these actually be booked? They are not yet available on DCL site for cash bookings, and also not on DVC site for points bookings… I want to book one before they are sold out, the new destinations look awesome!!
These all look fantastic! And DCL is the ONLY way to cruise!
Glad to see the news is out!! Very interested in Southern Caribbean leaving from San Juan!
Cant wait! Married on DCL in 11, spoiled ever since.
Looks fabulous!
Any chance for another Hawaii cruise?
Just booked April 2014 Eastern Caribbean. We too have been spoiled on Disney–this is our 4th. All 40 of us! Great family time.
We are waiting to hear about the West Coast Cruises in October 2014
Excited to book our first Disney Cruise. When will the general population be able to book?
Southern Caribbean!! Do you think these changes will continue on for future years? I want to do Southern Caribbean so bad but we already have another cruise booked for next year. Would maybe have to do Southern Caribbean 2015 if they continue to do it. Fingers crossed!!
This is exciting news….got some serious thinking to do!
This is all so exciting! We would love to do the Greek Isles and would love to depart from PR! Any news as to when booking begins?? Thanks for posting!!
When are the booking open?
Great news overall – disappointed that there is no West Coast or Hawaii. Limited choices unless somewhat. DLC is still our favorite though!
Did the inagural cruise to Hawai’i and would really like to go to Hawai’i again. How about more West Coast cruises. Did the inagural Pixar to San Francisco/San Diego and would do it again. How about a West Coast Cruise to Seattle stopping in San Francisco? There is only one real cruise line in the world…..DCL
Soooooo happy that the Disney Magic will be departing from San Juan, Pr!!! I just told my kids and they were euphoric! We will be visiting Art of Animation this April and for sure will book your cruise as soon as it becomes available! 😀
Wow! some great opportunities. We’re have been waiting for a southern caribbean (did the first one in 2006 and LOVED it). Nine night Alaska looks nice as well. Thanks for adding some diversity to the lineup!
I so want to go on the Alaska cruise
Oh, where will we go next!!! So excited by the new additions for 2014. I think I need to go to Italy :o)
These sound great, but I’m disappointed that DCL isn’t going to Hawaii. Please consider that again. 🙂
Desperately hoping to see some news about any cruises leaving out of LA!
We are doing Alaska this July, glad to see a seven night Med, 2014 is a good possible opportunity for us.
SO, SO glad to see a PR departure! Finally getting to some new territory in the Caribbean! Hopefully we will be booking it on our next cruise (assuming it’s still open!).
I am so happy to see that Puerto Rico will be the new homeport for the Magic! I was born and raised there and now work in the industry and recently left that San Juan run. This is great news for the people of Puerto Rico! Thank you DCL!
Really excited about the Southern Caribbean sailing out of San Juan! October 2014 is when my husband and I will celebrate our 5-year anniversary and we honeymooned in Antigua so it would be great to stop there for a day and reminisce. Crossing my fingers that we can make this happen – we have wanted to go on a Disney cruise for awhile now!
Is DCL ever planning to depart from NY again? We sailed last summer and are hoping for another NY departure soon!!
We can’t wait to hear more information about the cruises to the Mediterranean for 2014….We are looking for a great cruise for our 35 Anniversary…
