Mike and Sulley are dropping in from MU to scare up fun all summer long. Some of the monstrous surprises in store include all-new, collegiate settings in which to meet your favorite aspiring scarers. On the Backlot at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ll find the Monsters University Student Union, complete with a view of the campus. Meanwhile, when Sulley and Mike step through the door to Disney California Adventure park, you’ll find them right outside the university dorms, recreated in Hollywood Land.
Also at Disney California Adventure park, Mike and Sulley show their MU spirit as they lead daily performances of the Pixar Play Parade, and at Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll chuckle along with the gang at the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, where they’ve been studying new jokes and are ready to graduate to new comedic bits in honor of their alma mater.
It may be summer vacation, but Monsters University will be in session all season at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts! The fun starts on May 24th!

Ah ha! I knew it! When I saw this past weekend that the “Monsters” unit was not in the Pixar Play Parade, I had a feeling that they were themeing it to “Monsters University” 🙂
That back area of Hollywood Land is a great place for a Monsters University meet and greet backdrop.
When can we expect to see these new locations open?
Timothy – Sorry that information wasn’t in the original posting last night. We’ve added it now. Everything is set to debut May 24 to kick off Monstrous Summer.
Just where in Hollywood land would be the University dorms?
Alyxandria – The Monsters University dorms set is being created at the end of Hollywood Blvd and to the left, just before the Hollywood Pictures Backlot arch that leads toward the Mad Arcade.
I love how Monsters University was established in 1313. 😉
Alisha – Must be a lucky number for us! After all, Disneyland has done pretty well residing at 1313 Harbor Blvd. for the past 58 years. 😉
I’m anxiously waiting for “Monsters U,” and this sounds awesome. I’m not entirely familiar with the “seasons” at the parks, though. When you say “all summer long,” does that include Labor Day Weekend? I’d love to see this!
Robyn – The Monsters University enhancements are expected to run from May 24 through the Labor Day weekend. Entertainment schedules are subject to change, however, so I would recommend checking Disneyland.com closer to your visit.
So how do we try to get tickets for this event…I am an annual passholder, so I would like to know if there is something “special” that needs to be done…
Kimberly – All the Monsters University entertainment mentioned in this post, as well as the 24-hour Monstrous Summer All-Nighter event, are included with regular park admission.
This was the first Disney movie our daughter, now 12, loved. She called Sulley “Monkey” and would ask to watch “Monkey” when she was little. When I told her that she was going to get to meet him this summer she was so excited. Thanks for this update so we can plan for this during our visit to WDW in June!
Will there be an Annual Pass holder special event?
We will be there starting on May 25th debating on leaving a day earlier!!! Can not wait
