Are you ready to experience a whole new pirate adventure?

Walt Disney Imagineering just shared a sneak peek at the new interactive quest, A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas, which will debut at Magic Kingdom Park this summer.

In the game, the fate of piracy in the Caribbean rests in the hands of new pirate recruits, who, armed with magic talismans and treasure maps, embark on five different pirate raids throughout Adventureland to collect valuable treasures, while Captain Jack Sparrow’s magic compass guides them.

Here, Imagineers Jonathan Ackley and Matt Beiler offer up a look at a few of the quest’s cool special effects.

A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas will be included with Magic Kingdom Park admission and is open to guests of all ages.

Now, which of you are ready to join the ranks of a new recruit?

  • Will this attraction be at Disneyland?

  • great idea loved kim possible.
this will be our 27th year and love the new interactive stuff

  • I miss 1995 – 2000 when this experience was The Adventureland Challenge, hosted by Col. Wayne P. McSwagger and his fallen Jungle Cruise Skipper lacky.

  • Will this be located by the Pirates ride?

  • This attraction looks great! Can you confirm if that is Johnny Depp portraying Jack after the compass spins? Thanks!

  • Will they have this at Disneyland?

  • I can’t wait to try this out. I am a big kid at heart and hope to have fun doing this adventure with my husband when we go end of September into the first week of October. My husband are members of a pirate guild in NC, and I hope to take tons of photos to share with our crew.

    • Wow, sounds like this is perfect for you both. Have fun!

  • I can hardly wait! I hope it will be in different locations and not in the way of Scorcerer’s seeking their magic. Great thing to doon busy days! Glad I’m a Passholder so I can start looking for treasures right away.

    • I hope you enjoy it, Terese.

  • Does this have something to do with the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse being under renovation?

  • I loved me some Shrunken Ned’s Boats, so I have some high hopes for this!

  • I’m looking forward to trying this.

Once this thing is up and running, I really hope Jonathan Ackley will get straight to work on fixing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and expanding that game to Tomorrowland, New Fantasyland, etc. as well as adding portals to help with the crowds and introducing more new spell cards.

  • Will this game be included with park admission or will it cost extra?

    • It is included in admission.

  • Hooray! Hope this is open when we go the end of June!

  • I am not sure I quite understand. Is this like the Kim Possible thing that was at Epcot, where you pick something up and play throughout the park? Or is it a self-contained walk through attraction in Adventureland?

    • You pick up a talisman and map, and play throughout Adventureland. 🙂

  • Where would you begin this, or in other words how would you get started ?

  • I can’t wait to play this when it opens!

  • Any idea how long the quest will take to complete?

    • There are actually five different pirate raids that are a part of the quest. It is up to you how many you play.

  • Will this replace the Sorcerors of the Magic Kingdom locations in Adventureland?

    • No, this is actually a separate experience in Adventureland.

  • Thank you Jennifer! I can’t wait!

  • We’re coming in July..hope our timing is right!

    • I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! Keep checking back for more updates.

  • We did the in park quest at Epcot. Loved it! So glad you’re adding pirates in adventureland. We’ll be looking forward to it!

  • Is this replacing the regular Pirates of the Caribbean ride that was just re-vamped a few years back or is this a separate ride? Just wondering because we missed it last time because it was under re-construction and did not want to miss it again.

    • No, our classic Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is still there. This is a separate, outdoor experience in Adventureland.

  • Will this be working soon? Or maybe have special sneak peeks for passholders??? 🙂 My sons are going to LOVE this!!!! We’ll be there on Friday, I suppose that’s too soon for us to check it out?

  • Is this going to be in addition to Sorceror’s of the Magic Kingdom or is it going to be replacing it?
