Although I don’t have a green thumb, there is a guided tour at Disneyland park that really grew on me. It’s called “Cultivating the Magic.” During the two-hour tour, guests learn how the Disneyland Resort horticulture team uses flowers, plants and trees to help create the stories of each land. Tour guides also tell tidbits about Imagineer Bill Evans, the original creator of Disneyland’s landscape.

I brought the camera crew on the tour with me and spoke with one of the tour’s developers, cast member Tyler Slater, to give you a glimpse.

To experience the tour for yourself, call 714-781-TOUR(8687) or visit Disneyland Guest Relations. Tickets are available up to one month in advance and the tour begins Saturdays and Sundays at 9 a.m. and Mondays at 10 a.m.

  • I took this tour last June and it was great! I’d love to see Disneyland offer more guided tours like “Cultivating the Magic” and “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps.” They’re so interesting and give us a new perspective on a place we already know and love!

  • Is there an address where we can have our children send letters to their favorite characters? Do they still respond? Any tips would be appreciated!

  • Oh what a lovely idea for a tour! I love tours like this that share a little bit more magic with us who have no idea about some of the millions of details that go in to making Disneyland the Happiest Place On Earth!
