Countdown Begins for the Arrival of Disney Cruise Line to Jamaica

Like many of you, each year my team looks forward to the big news of which destinations Disney Cruise Line will visit next. Also like many of you, I was so excited when I heard we are going to Jamaica for the first time! I immediately thought of the beautiful natural scenery I experienced when I visited years ago on vacation, and I couldn’t wait to get started on the project of planning Port Adventures.

Now, with just four months until our first cruise calls on Jamaica, I want to show you some of the exciting and iconic experiences Disney Cruise Line guests can enjoy from the historical port of Falmouth.

People have been asking me forever…when will they go to Jamaica!!! Yippee!!!

  • My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Jamaica, and we got a chance to ride it. Being a fan of both Disney and the Cool Runnings movie, I couldn’t pass it up.

The ride is located in Ocho Rios, Northern Jamaica, in a park called Mystic Mountain.

It’s a bobsled and coaster. You start off on the top of the mountain and wind your way down, careening through the rainforest. There’s one unique feature on this ride: you control how fast you go. This ride is only powered by gravity. On the sled theres a lever, and that’s basically the brake. So the more you pull on it, the slower you ride, and the less you pull the faster.

The sled accommodates one person, but you have the ability to link sleds together. I would only recommend this if both riders have the same speed tolerance. If not, then someone will either complain you’re going too fast or too slow.

    I definitely recommend it.
