Tokyo Disneyland just announced that a new version Jungle Cruise will debut at the park in fall 2014.

New Version of Jungle Cruise To Debut At Tokyo Disneyland in 2014

The current version of the attraction, which has been popular with fans since the park opened in 1983, is very similar to the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland park attractions, as it takes guests on an adventurous cruise through the jungle led by a comical skipper. In the next version, the Jungle Cruise skipper will have a startling encounter with an animal spirit guardian in the ruins of a lost jungle temple. It will also feature a new soundtrack and special effects – and for the first time at any Jungle Cruise attraction – a permanent after-dark “night-cruise” version that will offer guests a unique take on the jungle adventure.

  • Jungle Cruise at Disneyland is one of my favorites!! Can’t wait to see how amazing this one will turn out!!

  • It’s tough for me to ride the Cruise at Magic knowing I love riding Kilimanjaro over at Animal and see those majestic live animals. A Plus like this, especially the night cruise, will make Jungle wonderful all over again!

  • Jennifer, will there still be a cruise operator on the ride, giving commentary? Their jokes are corny-yet-amusing, and make the ride so unique and fun!

    • As soon as we get more details, we’ll share them here. 🙂

  • Gosh darn it Tokyo, stop getting all the cool stuff. XP
You have Disney Sea, that should be enough. XD

  • I would love to see this! I’ll have to find a way to work Tokyo into my big vacation after deployment next year!! It’d be great to see it as it is now and the new version later in the year 🙂

    • Sounds like a blast! Be safe and have fun planning.

  • Sounds awesome. I always like going on Disney rides at night. This is the first ride that it is purposely different.

  • Terrific! My daughter lives in Tokyo and has an annual pass, so an updated ride is always a good excuse to fly over and spend some quality Disney Time together. Best two D parks in the world…IMO. \o/

  • We loved visiting Tokyo Disneyland Resort in 2009. This would be a great addition to the park! I can’t wait for our return visit to see it!
Now if we can get night enhancements at Disneyland!!

  • This sounds so cool! They should do this at WDW 🙂

  • Sounds great! Here in the states, I would like to see a return to the original telling of the ride. I mean, I like the snarky humor of the Captains these days, but it was more fun when they would take the ride seriously and play up the drama.

  • This sounds awesome! I just hope they the corny spirit of the attraction alive. Will the night cruise be a differnet version of the ride? I know the MK version does night runs, but its the same attraction as during the day.

  • I’d love to see the new version. I’m one that always says don’t change things but Disney just makes them better so I’m sure it will be good. I’m still not sure about the change to the Main St bakery in WDW I’ll see what I think about that soon. 🙂

  • Currently Tokyo is the only park I haven’t seen. And getting there is on my bucket list.

    • Mine, too!

  • The idea of a special night cruise sounds wonderful. This would be a wonderful to see in the other parks as well, as I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it to Disneyland Tokyo anytime soon.

  • Would love to ride on the ‘night cruise’!!!! The animal spirit guardian sounds like a great addition/change to the ride. Wish I could visit!!

    • 🙂

  • This sounds like a good way to spruce up one of the older attractions. I do hope this concept finds its way stateside, at least the nightime version.
