  • Giraffes have always fascinated me. If I could give him a name it would be
Jelani (jeh-LAH-ee) which means Mighty One.

  • Giraffes Are my favorite…Well, Maybe tied with the Tigers! I suggest the name “Mendala” The meaning of mandala comes from Sanskrit meaning “circle.” Even though it may be dominated by squares or triangles, a mandala has a concentric structure. Mandalas offer balancing visual elements, symbolizing unity and harmony.
And After All, Isn’t it called The “circle” of life? 😉

  • My family is coming to the park in September, and the baby may be out in the park by then. I would love it if you would name the young giraffe Nathan, after my youngest son- who LOVES animals.

    Thank you so much!

  • I’ve been fortunate enough to see both Lily and a 2 1/2 week old Jabali. But the most magical moment happened during Backstage Safari three years ago (5/10) with my autistic daughter, Joanna. There was a young giraffe in a corral with its Mom. Wherever Joanna went, the young giraffe was at that side of the corral … it was following her and trying to reach over the fence! Would you happen to know which giraffe that was?

  • My favorite baby born at Disney Animal Kingdom is Lily to Gorilla. She is so much fun to watch summersaulting and playing on the Pangini Forest ExplorationTrail. I also love reading the stories about her and how Disney is giving her therapy because she is developmentally delayed.
