Disney Cruise Line’s social media team is off on an Alaskan adventure this week, working hard to get answers to our fans most popular Alaska cruise questions. I think we’d all agree the view from their “office” is pretty amazing!
Yesterday, the Disney Wonder cruised through the glacial blue waters of Tracy Arm Fjord, where they enjoyed amazing scenery, Disney pals fitted for the frontier and even a BBQ up on deck! Take a look at this gallery of photos, which includes a unique look at the glacier from the captain’s point of view.
For the Alaska cruises, Disney homeports in Vancouver, and on Monday, the team was up bright and early to greet the ship as she sailed under the First Narrows Bridge.
Before boarding the Disney Wonder, they kicked off their adventures with a visit to Grouse Mountain, taking in the beautiful views of the city and landscape from North America’s largest aerial tramway…and getting an up-close look at the mountain’s resident grizzly bears!

Their next stop was the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which crosses 450 feet across a deep canyon, and then onto Stanley Park where they enjoyed great views of the city skyline.

WOW. I so wish the Vancouver tour was available or I had known about it for our trip earlier this summer. We had plenty of time between disembarkation and our flight. Thankfully the US terminal at the airport has a playground for the kids. As far as what to do in Skagway, we did some shopping downtown and we went to Haines for a 4×4 adventure. It was so much fun! Be sure to snap a picture with the train fitted with a jet engine in Skagway!
When visiting Skagway, please be sure to take a trip on the White Pass and Yukon Route railway. You will be glad you did. The scenery is beautiful and the railway is historic.
I highly recommend a helicopter ride to the Denver Glacier. Upon landing at a dog sled camp, you get to meet a musher and dog sled team, take a sled ride across the glacier and then cuddle with the puppies. I was fortunate enough to be able to cross this off my bucket list this past June. It was a wonderful experience! No matter what you choose to do, you’ll have a great time. The scenery is breathtaking and the people are extremely friendly. Have fun!
Another vote for the White Pass Railway, the scenery is amazing. Also check out some great art shops and get a soapstone or granite carved bear.
