Last night, 200 Disney Parks Blog readers joined us for a special circle tour of Disneyland park aboard the Halloween Time Express Meet-Up! This mobile meet-up was our first-ever, and included spooky surprises at every stop.

Guests arrived in a variety of costumes, ready to board one of two Disneyland Railroad trains which would take them on their adventure.
After a private performance from the Cadaver Dans at the Main Street Train Station, the Halloween Time Express departed for New Orleans Square, where Jack and Sally were waiting to greet passengers.
Next, an unexpected stop just outside Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree featured Billy Hill and the Haunted Hillbillies along with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their Halloween costumes!

When the Halloween Time Express reached Tomorrowland Station, Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers were waiting to board the train, but were thwarted by Jedi Knights.

And did I mention ghost hosts? Each train was boarded by a resident of the Haunted Mansion – both looking for something to haunt while Jack Skellington has taken over for the season.

Waiting for our passengers as they disembarked from the train at Main Street Train Station were Maleficent, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella.

Does anyone know when Candlelight will be at Disneyland?
I was in the last car and part of the people who couldn’t see as well, but Erin, you still made my friend & I feel special and that’s the Disney difference!! It was awesome to get to meet all the characters. Maleficent loved my shirt (I had the shirt with Maleficent and the Evil Queen taking a selfie), and that was all I wanted! I wasn’t expecting Maleficent, Anastasia, Lady Tremaine and Drizella! Thanks again everyone that made this magical! And thank you for the unexpected gift at the end π
That must’ve been so much fun!
Sure sounds like everyone had a BLAST! I love all the pictures and descriptions of each stop! Everyone enjoy your “Departing Gift” How cool!!
I didn’t attend, but kudos to Disney for such a creative event that utilizes the trains in a different (and fun!) way. I can just imagine what other holidays and times of year would be like– Christmas, Easter, the summertime…. awesome Disney! ΒΊoΒΊ
Thank you Erin and all the great people at Disney Parks Blog (the first thing I read every day!)all the great Disneyland cast members, all the great Disney performers–the Halloween Time Express Meet-Up was AMAZING! What an unexpected treat to see the spooky side of all those talented performers from some of our favorite Disneyland shows at every stop–more delight than fright! And the special treat trail and the beautiful gift–thank you all so much for everything! We had an awesome time!
@Gina The gift at the end was a pillow that said “tomb sweet tomb” and 2 Halloween decorated rice crispy treats wrapped up all cute.
We LOVE Nightmare, but…why doesn’t the Jack Skellington who roams the park look like Jack? His head is incorrectly shaped. An Imagineer or costumer needs to watch the film and then redo his head!
Is there a list or something to get on to know about these meet ups? I would love to join one.
Cassie – We post sign-ups here on the Disney Parks Blog and usually give a heads-up on Twitter via @Disneyland.
This event looks amazing! Would love to see them do more than one night and for sure hope they will do it again next year! Disney Parks Blog has the best meet ups! I hope to be able to attend one someday! @Kristen or anyone else who attended, what gift did you receive at the end?
Oh, and what was the gift at the end??
Sounds like it was amazing!!! I wish I could have been with you guys!! π
We were in the first train car, also. But THANK YOU Erin for kindly responding to my tweet and meeting us as we pulled into Main Street Station—THAT’S the Disney Difference, and we had a wonderful time. So lucky to have attended π π π
Thanks so much for your understanding, Zachary! I’m glad you had a good time.
Thanks Erin and all the wonderful cast members for such a fun and spooky night. I had a great seat on the train behind Constance, the Ghost Bride. Seeing Sally, Jack, Maleficent, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella together was an experience. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Thanks to Erin and the rest of the Parks staff for making this 1st time “traveling” event a great one – and my 13 yr old’s 1st Disney blog event! While a challenge I think this was fun and a quick way to celebrate HalloweenTime! The final gift was a great touch.
Oh my gosh, how fun!! Will it happen again? How do we find out?
wait I was there last night and saw this going on. could I have signed up to do it to or did you have to be invited or something cause I saw the check in but never went up to ask
Katie – Sign-ups for our meet-ups are posted here on the Disney Parks Blog. Also keep an eye on @Disneyland on Twitter.
My favorite part was pulling into Tomorrowland Station – what an epic surprise! Thank you Disney Parks Blog and everyone involved for hosting these fun events!
I was so bummed to find this booked up shortly after it was posted a few weeks ago. Please tell me there will be another HTE meet-up next year…?
I attended last night and it was super fun!! Unfortunately I was seated in the first train car so I didn’t see much of the train ride character performances, but the meet and greet with the characters afterwards was great! I really appreciated the gift at the end. Awesome event! Just wish I could have seen it… haha
One day, I hope to see make it into the recap. Great time last night!
Oh looks it me with one of the Haunted Mansion ladies! I had lots of fun last night. Definitely would experience this again !
I wish they looks amazing. Can’t take that many days off work though :-p
Thanks again Erin & the blog team for putting on this unique event! The Jedi fight on Tomorrowland railroad station is something I thought I’d never see in a lifetime.. The crocodile tightrope lady from the Haunted Mansion rode the train with us and stayed in character the entire time (more of her in the park, please!), and of course the Hillbillies are always hilarious.
Thank you so much for a wonderful evening! Is it possible to get high resolution digital copies for those of us who attended? My iPhone pix didn’t turn out so well π
Just wanted to say thank you for a great time. Both me and my daughter loved the event. I liked the first stop in New Orleans square where the bride from the haunted mansion boarded our train. We loved her. Can’t wait til the next meet up.
Sincerely,
Andrea
YAY! That’s me posing with Maleficent! Erin, is there any way to get the rest of the pictures that were taken? I know he took quite a few because I was all twitterpated over the Mistress Of All Evil!
