We just got word from our friends in Walt Disney Imagineering that an Adventureland attraction will receive its first-ever holiday makeover this year. Beginning in early November, Jungle Cruise at both Disneyland park and Magic Kingdom Park will temporarily transform into “Jingle Cruise” for the holiday season!

Jungle Cruise is Going ‘Jingle Cruise’ for the Holidays at Disneyland Park & Magic Kingdom Park

In this new seasonal storyline of the attraction, the Skippers have grown homesick for the holidays, so they’ve added holiday cheer to the Jungle Cruise queue and boathouse with decorations that have been mailed to them from home (plus a few they’ve created themselves). The Skippers have also added a slew of new jokes to their tours that are the perfect way to get guests in the holiday spirit. Additionally, Jungle Cruise boats have been renamed with the holidays in mind, and if guests listen carefully, they may hear a holiday-themed radio broadcast playing in the background.

Jingle Cruise will debut on November 12 at Disneyland park. Be sure to keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more updates!

What do you think? Will you board the Jingle Cruise this holiday season? Tell us in the “Comments” section below!

  • SAY WHEN!!!!!!!

    • I hope to have an update soon!

  • We’ll be there Christmas Eve…will definitely check this out!!

    • Sounds great, Denise.

  • Cool, I may have to change my fastpass+ so i don’t miss it.

  • Man! Need to see about a trip down from SEA to catch this!

  • OMGOSH Id love to see this…I was at Disneyland for Thanksgiving last year *my bday too* Disneyland is so beautiful at Christmas time. We visited again this past summer in June. In August I move from CA to MI so I wont be able to see it this year…I am so so sad..

  • So glad to see Seasonal Overlays coming to Walt Disney World.

  • I love all the Christmas overlays at Disneyland as this is going to be the icing on the cake! Can’t wait!

  • More holiday fun at Disneyland!
    Definitely count me in.
See you in December for candlelight & all the beautiful holiday decorations only Disneyland can do!!

  • I heard that they’re gonna put little “Santa Hats” on the pirhannas (sp?)………Sounds like the perfect ride to make Christmassy- so many possibilites for so many bad, punny, wonderful jokes! Can’t wait!

  • This sounds like a lot of fun! We always try to go on the Jungle Cruise and love all the Christmas decorations around Disneyland. I won tickets this year so we’ll be there after the 1st of December. Also, we’ll be bringing my 2yr old granddaughter along as well. We can’t wait!

    • Lucky you! This will be a Disney holiday season to remember, I’m sure.

  • How very fun! Looking forward to seeing it next month on our trip!

  • So they’ll get a touch of Christmas magic AND they don’t have to close the attraction to do it? That’s double great!! YAY!

    • Correct. All the work will be done after hours.

  • This seem like one of the worst attractions to overlay. Small World would be a better overlay at WDW. However, I do encourage the use of new jokes. The are in need of a mix up. You should give the skippers move freedom, like in the past.

  • This is an excellent idea. I cannot wait. As a local, the Jungle Cruise is one of those attractions that doesn’t seem to beg to be repeated much from month to month – this however brings a whole new dimension to the ride around the already wonderful Disney Holiday Season! Don’t take it for Granite! 🙂

    • That’s great input, John.

  • Will there be a blog meetup for grand opening..? And can I call dibs on an invite?

  • We’ll be at WDW Nov. 12 – 18th, can’t wait to see this!!

  • SOOOOO excited about this. Looking forward to this when we come Thanksgiving week as we are celebrating my Daughter’s 9th B-day that week.

    • Sounds like a great plan. 🙂

  • Cannot wait for more in depth updates and hopefully we’ll see some fun, retail merchandising including T shirts, etc.

    • We hope to have more information to share very soon!

  • I hope this is up and running when I go to Disneyland Nov. 8th and 9th. I’ve already seen Haunted Mansion Holiday this year and the enhancements are amazing.

  • Sounds awesome! We’ll be there in December and my daughter has never been on the jungle cruise! Can’t wait to see it!

    • Should be fun. I hope she enjoys it. 🙂

  • This sounds pretty cool. I’m looking forward to seeing it.

  • Absolutely! We’ll be there in December and look forward to our Jingle Cruise (our 3-year-old grandson will be with us–his first time! I know he’ll love it too!).

  • So awesome of WDI to bring the transformation to one of Walt’s attractions open from day 1 on July 17, 1955.

  • This is AWESOME! New reason to make sure and catch this ride when we are there for Christmas! 59 days until we get there!

    • I hope you have a great trip, John.

  • i hope it is still up and running the first week of january! i know the osborne lights are up until the 5th or so….

  • So cool, can’t wait to see it in Nov! Any chance of Nightmare Before Christmas ever coming to Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom? That would be incredible!

  • Yay!! I’m so excited to see this. We’re taking our almost 8 year old on a surprise trip and will be there the 14th thru the 18th! 🙂 Can’t wait!

    • That sounds amazing! I hope you have a blast.

  • I can not wait there are 6 of us coming in December. We will definitely check out the Jingle Cruise.

    • Fun!

  • Can’t wait for this…first talking Mickey and now this. We are going in Dece for my nephew’s 1st birthday and looks like it will be a blast!

    • Sounds like you have a great trip planned, Leslie.

  • it would be wonderful if they’d leave this in place through Marathon weekend!!

  • This sounds like so much fun!!! I might have to schedule a FastPass+ just for the “Jingle Cruise!”

  • Will it go into rehab? We’ll be visiting Magic Kingdom on November 7th for our baby boy’s first trip to WDW. Would hate to miss out on this!

    • Great question. It will NOT close for refurbishment. The work on the attractions at both Disneyland park and Magic Kingdom Park will take place overnight, so it will remain open during the day for guests.

  • Yet another way to make our trip magical! Can’t wait. 56 days! Will definitely be boarding the Jingle Cruise!

  • Too bad I won’t be able to be there this year. Sounds like a hoot!

  • Awesome! This is my Wife’s favorite ride! I cant wait to experience this with her!

    • I hope she loves it!

  • OK – you got me with this one! Our family loves the Jungle Cruise and it’s corny jokes. We already have a FP+ for this to be our first ride at Magic Kingdom on November 11th. However, I’m all for a holiday makeover. It sounds like loads of fun.

But the big question – when is it going to start…we’ll be in Magic Kingdom on the 11th, 15th and 18th, would love an opportunity to check it out! (The first Christmas party is the 8th, so my guess is they’ll have it ready by then.)

    • Get ready for new jokes! We don’t have a date to share yet, so stay tuned for that. It’s also important to note that this isn’t just for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights – it will be open during park hours.

  • Oooo! I hope it’s up by birthday in early November!

    • That would be fun! Please keep checking back for future updates on timing.

  • Bring Haunted Mansion Holiday to Orlando!!!

  • So excited! My sisters and I are going mid-November and this is just one more special holiday treat to look forward to on top of the already planned Osbourne Lights and resort-holiday-display-hopping!

    • The holidays here are amazing! I hope you all have a blast. It will be fun to see how this turns out.

  • I hope it is a big success; I can’t make it down until next year and I want this to come around again then!

  • This is SO exciting! Thanks for sharing this fun news. 🙂

  • What a treat! Yes, I hope to board the “Jingle” Cruise at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on November 8th. I think Dr. Albert Falls…would be pleased 🙂

  • Cool- now bring Haunted Mansion Holiday (please)!!!

  • By early November, do you mean Nov 1st?! Our last day of the trip….please let it be!

    • As soon as we have more info on opening dates, we’ll post it here. Stay tuned!

  • This sound great. I can not wait to see and hear what they will be doing.

  • Finally a holiday overlay for Orlando!

  • Sounds awesome!!!!!!!!!!! I will be there in Dec can’t wait to see it!!!!!

    • Hi hope you like it, Robyn!

  • This sounds amazing! I just wish I could be there this winter!

  • Awesome! I can’t wait to see what this is like!

    • I can’t wait, either!
