Cheers to the Disney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon

Once again runDisney served up an amazing weekend for runners at the 2013 Disney’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. From the Pre-Race Taste at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, to Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K and Kids Races, to the main course Wine and Dine Half Marathon and Finish Line Party, runners were treated to a smorgasbord of events.

As I stood at the start and finish lines Saturday night, I couldn’t help but realize how special our runners make this event. From creative costumes to well choreographed finish-line crossings, all of you made this unique nighttime race a five-out-of-five star rated event.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the half marathon and we hope you are stretching, icing and recovering. And to all runners, we look forward to you making a “reservation” and joining us for the 2014 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend.

  • Thanks runDisney for a great race! Both the Jinkle Jungle 5k and the Wine and Dine Half Marathon were a blast. I loved running through Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

  • This is the only runDisney race we haven’t done. It’s on the docket for our F&W trip in 2015. Really looking forward to it. Looks like everyone had a blast.

  • This was the anniversary of our first runDisney event – 2012 Jingle Jungle 5K. Kicking off the weekend at the official #WineDineHalfMeetup was a great start. The Expo, as always was a treat and packet pickup was smoother than we have ever seen, so KUDOS to runDisney castmembers! Had a blast running the #JingleJungle5K with friends and seeing best buddy, Donald Duck, on the course. That night we cheered myself hoarse for the #WineDineHalf runners. You can bet we will be back next year – but first, we’ve got challenges to conquer over #WDWMarathon and #PrincessHalf weekends!

  • The Wine Dine Half was my first runDisney night race! Of course I mentally told myself it was really a 5 am start. Hey it worked for me! It was an absolutely fantastic experience all around. The whole weekend was amazing from meet up Thursday, to expo Friday, to 5k and half Saturday, and finally to “I can really party at Epcot until 4 am” Sunday! I came out of the weekend on a runners high! Thanks for everything runDisney! Let’s do it again real soon! Dopey Challenge bound!

for the love of Disney running
