runDisney Takes Magical Miles on the Road To Atlanta

At runDisney we are constantly looking for ways to provide exciting opportunities for our runners and this past weekend we think we hit a home run at Turner Field. On Saturday, runDisney hosted its first meet-up on the road in Atlanta. It was an opportunity to take Mickey, Minnie and some runDisney magic directly to our fans.

More than 100 participants hit the streets for a fun run that took us under the Olympic rings, circled the Capital building and then back to Turner Field for a run inside the stadium and around the warning track. Following the run, guests were treated to a speaker series that included runDisney training consultant and Atlanta’s own Jeff Galloway, runDisney nutritionist Tara Gidus and Runner’s World editor Warren Green. Our partners from New Balance used the meet-up to announce that the 2014 New Balance runDisney 860 running shoe will feature Sorcerer Mickey and Pink Minnie. They also revealed the same 860 Mickey and Minnie shoe will be available in kid’s sizes.

On behalf of the entire runDisney team, I want to thank our Atlanta meet-up participants and all our runDisney fans for their continued support. If you want to follow along or join the conversation from Atlanta, please use #ontheroadtodisneyparks. And, as always, we invite you to follow us on runDisney Facebook, Twitter @runDisney and on runDisney Instagram for exciting news and future opportunities.

  • A HUGE thanks to the entire crew at runDisney and especially to the city of Atlanta! You were all gracious hosts! This is a most excellent way to spread the word about runDisney! If you ever have an opportunity to be a part of one of these meet-ups, I recommend it without hesitation! I live in Orlando and the six hour drive up and back was more than worth it to me! Keep them coming runDisney! Take my money….PLEASE!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for choosing Atlanta as your first stop! I had a fantastic time and can’t wait for my next RunDisney race!!

  • Thanks so much to runDisney for coming to Atlanta for this amazing event! My husband and I had a blast getting run past the Olympic Rings, the Capitol building, and of course, getting to run through Turner Field. We enjoyed listening to the guests speakers too. I would strongly suggest, if On The Road To Disney Parks comes to your hometown, that you try to sign up for this incredible experience. It was so much fun!!!

  • Thanks runDisney for putting on this amazing event! My wife and I were so excited to have been selected to participate. It was our first ever runDisney event, and we’re totally hooked! Trying to decide which Walt Disney World runDisney event to sign-up for first! Very impressed with all runDisney is doing and wow, what a close-knit group the runDisney community is! I’ve run more in the past two weeks than in the last several years – motivated by the Mouse!

  • Thanks to runDisney and Disney Sports for bringing the magic to us! It was truly an amazing event and we were so lucky to have this meetup here in the ATL. If they come to your town…. Don’t Miss It! Fabulous morning with my runDisney loving friends!

  • Love it! Looks like a great time. Please come to other cities (out west!…hint: Phoenix would be great)
