Another Christmas Parade lit up Magic Kingdom Park with holiday cheer in December 1977.
In this Christmas parade, Chip ‘n’ Dale baked holiday treats on a traveling kitchen float, while surrounded by dancing gingerbread men. Some Disney characters, including Mary Poppins and Bert from “Mary Poppins” and “Dumbo“, traveled atop large drums decorated for the holidays. Goofy played elf by working in a Santa’s workshop float, building toys. A larger-than-life gingerbread house also traveled down the parade path.

How wonderful! Has WDW ever had the Christmas version of the Electrical Parade that ran in Paris and continues in Tokyo?
Upon looking at these photos, I have a question:
I’ve heard that the garlands that they hang above Main Street during the holidays will not be returning next year because the floats in the upcoming Festival of Fantasy Parade are going to be so big and could hit them.
Is there any truth to that rumor?
I love that some of the floats are reflected in the ones we see today in the Once Upon a Christmastime parade!
I’m also amazed at the crowd! That is one packed parade!
