There’s a new exhibit of spectacular ice sculptures themed around Disney’s “Frozen” that we thought Disney Parks Blog readers would enjoy seeing.

More than 70 “Frozen”-themed sculptures, featuring characters and scenes from the hit movie, are now on display at the famous Snow and Ice Sculpture Festival in Bruges, Belgium. Ice artists also created sculptures of Disneyland Paris at this year’s Festival.

Visitors to a recent “Frozen” event at the exhibit not only got a first peek at the ice sculptures but they also had a chance to greet special characters from the film, Anna and Elsa. The Walt Disney Company Belgium and Disneyland Paris worked together with the Festival to create the first-of-its-kind exhibit.

If you’re in the area, you can see the ice sculptures throughout the holiday season.

  • We went to see this just after it opened back in November. I’d been a few years before when it wasn’t inspired by Disney but I was really amazed this time. They were taking some professional photos when we were there of a girl dressed as Ariel (I bet she was freezing) and the place was empty, which for us was great because we could enjoy it more. The slide was great too, even if I am an adult (so was everyone else on it). Absolutely stunning and was definitely worth seeing! It’d be ‘cool’ to see some frozen inspired ice at WDW when we go next, like the trees in the film and some ice…it was amazing in Brugges!

  • My family and I just visited the Bruges exhibit yesterday. My clever wife was able to score free tickets online! We arrived early and it was still quite crowded. Bruges was experiencing some unseasonably warm weather – the temperature was in the mid 50s! But no problem as the sculptures were in a tent and it was quite frosty inside! The detail on the ice sculptures was amazing. No problem telling who was who. Videos were playing showing how it was done. Remarkable. Well worth the visit even if we did not have the free tickets!

  • Greetings Thomas,

This exhibit has to leave folks completely incredulous!

How do they keep the ice sculptures intact? This is an amazing display, thank you for sharing!!

    Best regards and Happy Holidays,
    Jacqueline

  • Beautiful! I would love to see something like this as part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 🙂
