What better day than Walt’s birthday to share an opportunity to join us for a special meet-up featuring a Practically Perfect preview screening of Disney’s “Saving Mr. Banks” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios before it opens in U.S. theatres on December 20.

Our Disney Parks Blog meet-up begins at 9 p.m. EST (doors open 8 p.m. EST) on Friday, December 13, 2013. At the event, you’ll be able to see “Saving Mr. Banks” at the Premiere Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Two-time ®Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences winner Emma Thompson and fellow double Oscar® winner Tom Hanks are featured in the film that’s inspired by the extraordinary, untold backstory of how Disney’s classic “Mary Poppins” made it to the screen.

RSVP now by sending us an email with your name, address and if you’ll be bringing a guest to WDW.BlogMeetUps@disney.com. Only one guest is permitted. A limited number of attendees will be selected for the event, so be one of the first to sign up.

Also, there are a few things you should know:

  • All attendees who sign up for the event must be 18 years or older, but guests do not need to be 18 or older.
  • Limit one guest per registrant.
  • We will send an email to individuals whose valid RSVPs are received by us via email before we reach the planned capacity to confirm their attendance for the event.
  • If confirmed, it will be necessary for the registrant and guest to check in at the front entrance of Disney’s Hollywood Studios for access to the event. The confirmation will include those details.
  • Valid photo I.D. will be required at check-in.
  • “Saving Mr. Banks” is rated PG-13
  • Meet-up confirmations are non-transferrable and have no cash value.
  • Confirmation will be for the accepted registered person and guest.
  • If you do not receive an email from us confirming your reservation, then your RSVP was not accepted.
  • The event is subject to change or cancellation.

    I had the extreme honor and pleasure of seeing a preview of Saving Mr. Banks here in Toronto last week and let me tell you not one person rose at the end of the movie to exit. Everyone sat riveted to their seats until the lights came on. It was packed and everyone was incredulous!

    I felt as if I was with Walt Disney at every turn, it was amazing!

    Seeing a preview of Saving Mr. Banks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios would just put me over the moon. I so wish I could fly down to see it again. That’s how much I loved the movie.

  • Can’t believe I missed out on this (Waaaaaaa). We’ll be at Disney World on 12/14 and Mary Poppins is my absolute favorite movie — the first movie I ever saw in the theater (at age 4). I behave like I’m 4 again with Mary Poppins at Epcot every time!
