Thousands of people have been captivated by the story of the Triquis kids basketball team from Oaxaca, Mexico. Despite playing without shoes – a luxury that is difficult to afford in their remote community – this team of determined athletes out-scored, out-passed and out-played more than 50 other teams to become the champions of the International Festival of Mini-Basketball in Argentina this October. Earlier this week, they had the opportunity to visit Southern California … and can you guess which was one of the first places they wanted to go when they arrived?
Disneyland, of course! We had the honor of hosting these amazing boys yesterday here at Disneyland park, and what a day they had!

Thank you to Disneyland for a magical time and hospitality for the “Los Gigantes Descalzos de la Montana” aka Triquis Kids! Although they may have not all known about Mickey Mouse before they came, I am sure they do now and had a special experience they will remember forever!
Amazing Kids deserve an amazing vacation. Kudos to Disneyland Resort to do this possible. This kids are the proof, as Rodolfo stated in a revious comment, that if we can dream it, we can do it!. As a mexican, this kids make us feel very proud of ther attitude.
This kids are for all of us here in Mexico and in the world a great message that anything is possible if we dream it! I can’t imagine how magical was for these great kids be at Disneyland! =)
