We’re thrilled to start off the New Year with an exciting behind-the-scenes look at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Walt Disney Imagineering just shared this new video with us, in which Walt Disney Imagineers Ben VanBeusekon and Mary Mac Eachin explain the creative process behind designing and producing themed cars for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. As they explain, in addition to being a part of the attraction’s innovative new ride system that causes cars to swing back and forth while they travel down the track, the train cars are painted and aged in a way that contributes to the storyline of the attraction. I couldn’t help but notice the book in the stow-a-way compartment. They sure test everything!
Those shots of test rides suggest it’s really getting close to being done, so excited! Really really hoping it’s open in early April when I’ll be at WDW for a conference.

We are visiting February 9th thru the 16th. I hope that we can preview this ride like we could Soarin before it opened. Hope they let DVC members ride it early when we are there! My granddaughters would love it and so would we!
We saw them testing the ride in November…the ride looks amazing
When I went to MVMCP I saw a them testing a mine cart on the track! I’m so excited that it’s one step closer to being completed!

Will this be a super fast roller coaster? Or a little slower because of the swinging carts? I really want to go on this ride, but am not such a fan of roller coasters!!
As far as how “wild” it is, Mine Train has been developed as a family attraction, so the majority of the family should be able to enjoy it.
I hope this is done in time for our next tripp which is the last week in February. What will the height requirement be?

Can’t wait to ride this ride. Unfortunately it does’t look like it will be ready in time for our next trip, so we’ll have to wait until 2015 or 2016 to ride!
I’m wondering the same thing as Lisa. It looks like it may be similar to Thunder Mtn, as far as dips, etc?

Since I am a wimp at 54 is this ride a rollar Cosater or tame like some of the other rides like test track and Pirates does anyone know that yet?

We’re trying to decide when to visit DIsneyworld this year, when will this ride be open? I’d like to go when more of Fantasyland has opened! Thank you!
Has this ride received a date yet for when it will be up and running? We are coming in the middle of March and hope to get to ride it. But we are about to book our fastpass and would love to get that on it if so.

Yes, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is located in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park (Florida). It’s set to debut this year, so keep your eye on the blog for future opening dates!
We were just there on January 11th. It is amazing how far it has come since October. Do we have a planned preview date yet??? So excited for this addition to the Happiest Place on Earth!!

Do we know what season it will be in 2014? If its already done but in testing does that mean its close?

I hope this ride is open for early April 14 as we are getting married at the wedding pavillion!!!! Will be great to try and get all guest flying from the UK on this ride on our special day.
Any update on the opening date for the mine train ride and new parade? We are in Florida in mid-March, not sure if we are going to go to Disney World but we would for sure go if this opens then…..

Coming to WDW for the first time ever and we are coming over 2 birthdays one of which is my husband’s 30th birthday and he is a big seven dwarfs fan. I really hope it is open when we come in late March early April. Where is the ride located exactly?? Fantasyland??

Just pulled our 3yr. old (who wasn’t asleep yet) out of bed to measure her for the 38in. height requirement she makes it with a little extra to spare. Saw the media preview for the mine train does that mean the opening date to the public will be close behind? We will be there April 28th – May 7th!
Do we have an update on the opening of this? I have seen several different speculations, but until I hear (see) it from Disney I am not going to believe it. I saw something that said May 18, 2014 and it made me sad but then I thought about it for a minute and decided to start looking to see if I could find anything official. So if you could confirm that an official announcement has or hasn’t been made, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
