Over the last several months, we’ve revealed renderings of some of the fantastic and innovative parade floats set to debut this spring as part of the new “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade” at Magic Kingdom Park. We’ll have an update soon on the construction of these impressive floats, which will help bring stories such as “Peter Pan,” “The Little Mermaid” and “Tangled” to life on the parade route.
Today, though, we have a special sneak peek for you at another new unit set to join the lineup. These fascinating glimpses provide just a few hints at what is to come.
What do you think it could be? Let us know your guesses in the “Comments” section below, and check back on the Disney Parks Blog next week to find out!

I couldn’t find when this parade is going to begin? Any ideas or did I miss that?
Based on the colors and the details, I agree with Jennifer. It’s Sleeping Beauty.
I am going with Maleficent in dragon form. That green glow looks like an eye to me. And those sharp cogs look like the side of a dragon head. Can’t wait to see the full float.
I’m gonna say Oz The Great and Powerful. It looks more live action based than animated to me. =)
Which of course would make me lean towards the big cogs at the old sugarmill…
It has to be a movie or something that took place in the states. Disney is very particular about small details… and that oven thermometer is domestic, made by the Cooper Oven Thermometer Company of Pequabuck, Connecticut. Patent date Oct 24, 1922…
Have to say, the Princess and the Frog fits best, or maybe Brave… not sure though.
Definitely a Mine Train float! This float is supposed to be one not mentioned before…
The Great Mouse Detective would be AWESOME. I think of that from the cogs & wheels.
STEAMPUNK!!!!!!
Im going with something from BRAVE!
“Brave” is featured in the parade, but we’ve already released artwork on that float. You can see it here: http://bit.ly/1h0o63b
If it was something by Maurice, wouldn’t it be in french? Bon jour?
There have been a ton of guesses around a Maurice invention, but no, this float is not inspired by Maurice or “Beauty & The Beast.”
Looks like Disney is going Steampunk! Whichever character or movie it’s part of, I love it. Two of my favorite things together!
The thorns make me think…… Maleficent
I would have to say Tangled… The one picture looks so much like the sun in that movie. I know some of the other stuff doesn’t fit there…. But did they have ovens in the tavern?
THE DREAMFINDER!!!
I’m going with Princess and the Frog, between the mardi gras purple, the gator tooth, and the indi”gator” hints as well as the article saying that they would reveal Tangled, Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid Later.
Heat is generated by fire. Dragons breathe fire. It’s not a gator tooth in the photo it’s a thorn from a thorn bush. The spool is thread from a knitting needle. Sleeping Beatuy all the way.
After mulling this over way too much, I’m going to go with the Tangled boat unit. The oven indicator gauges and gears hint at something steam powered. The Tangled boat float, in the renderings, looks “home made”. The patrons of the Snuggly Duckling also appear to be riding on it. The rivets, aged metal, rope, “tooth” etc. hints at them to me. I strongly considered Ratatouille for awhile, but ruled it out.
It is really happening? Is Tapestry of Nations parade coming to the Magic Kingdom? BEST. PARADE. EVER!!!
Steampunk Dragon
I think it might be seven dwarfs coal mine float.
I do not remember steam power in Tangled, Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, or Brave. I believe in all those movies ships were under sail. The construction seems to complete to be a Maurice invention (temperature gage, pressure gage, lots of iron and brass). Tinker bell invents things but her stuff is generally out of natural products. Wow this is a tough one.
I have to agree with patti. This float has the Princess and the Frog written all over it. She want to own/does own a restaurant (oven heat indigator (yes I see what you did there)) the fishing line and Gator tooth. Yep Tiana, Prince Naveen, and Louis have a new ride!
Beauty and the Beast is the best I can come up with… but it just doesn’t seem exactly right. I KNOW it’s not from Alice in Wonderland. I wonder if Alice and the other Wonderlandians are not in the parade if some of them *coughMr.Hattercough* will return to the Mad Tea Party??? pleasepleaseplease?
Maybe it has something to do with Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. Or this float can be based on The Hunchback of Notre Dame. But all I can say is that I am really excited to see this new parade wich the Magic Kingdom so deserves. I am also looking forward to hear a snippet from the new song that wil be played.
It kinda reminds me of Dreamfinder… But, wouldn’t that be a different park.
I think it’s a ship! My guess is something to do with Little Mermaid/Prince Eric’s ship??
I think it could be something to do with the Mechanical Kingdom pins and Vinylmations!
I know he belongs at Epcot, but how much fun would this be if it were the Dreamfinder?
And it’s obviously not the submarine from “Atlantis”. 😉
I thought it might have something to do with a certain Mine in New Fantasyland….
Princess Tiana!!
The oven has an indigator and where else are there gators???
It is a Rapunzel float…
The purple color and the sun looking cog, screams Tangled to me 🙂
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say Treasure Planet maybe?
I found a post from April 2013 from the parks blog that stated “This parade will specifically highlight the stories of “The Little Mermaid,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Dumbo,” “Pinocchio,” “Peter Pan,” “Tangled” and the Disney●Pixar film “Brave” among others”. We’ve seen concept art for all of these except Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo and Pinocchio. Not sure which one of those this could be though. Doesn’t look very circus-like, so probably not dumbo. Someone said it has a steampunk appearance, which I agree. Perhaps an abstract float featuring Maleficient as the dragon from Sleeping Beauty? That would be cool and wuld be a nice tie in the upcoming Disney film coming out in May.
ITS TANGLED! The sharp wheel looks like the classic sun symbol from kingdom and I see purple and gold colors. Rapunzel is going to be rocking her awesome self on this float 🙂
To see the wood cutter come to life would definitely take a lot of people back to their childhood!
Gaston’s Pork Shank oven!!
Ha! I think that’s the most creative answer so far!
Beauty and the Beast! I looks like something Maurice would build and invent!
It looks steampunk, like the world of Epic Mickey
Maurice wouldn’t make cogs that sharp
It’s got to be the wood cutter contraption!
Agreed, This has to be a Maurice invention!
Wishful thinking, maybe, but Howl’s Moving Castle would be amazing! I would like to see anything by Studio Ghibli hit the parks.
Wow, these are all interesting guesses!
This looks like something Maurice would create.
