Today is National Pie Day. Pie is such a delectable treat and an American Classic — who doesn’t enjoy its goodness? Of course, most pies get their start in the kitchen, similar to this vintage kitchen from Mickey’s House in Mickey’s Birthdayland back in 1988.
Figuring out what kind of pie to make and enjoy is always a big decision. Here’s a look at The Peach Boys from Food Rocks at Epcot to help with some inspiration. In my opinion, it’s hard to beat a great apple pie.
Are your taste buds ready for a bite of pie now? Too bad it isn’t 1973, we could have visited Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom Park and enjoyed this cherry pie.
So today when you decide to dig into some pie, don’t feel guilty. Just consider it a civic duty.

Great story! My friend Patrick LOVES pie, in fact, he was once a pie-eating champion — this story makes me think of him! While I enjoy apple pie, my favorite is pecan pie. (My sister and I eat it every Christmas morning!) Thanks, Nate — now I’m hungry!
Pie-eating champion!?! That’s fantastic! Glad you enjoyed the story!
I thought Pie Day was not until March 14.
Hi Jason – According to the American Pie Council website, today is in fact National Pie Day.
Hey, Nate… How does the straw stick to the outside of the cup? Is that futuristic Tomorrowland Terrace magic?
I hear that Good Nutrition is not just a superstition.
Roger, I’m not sure. Must be Disney magic.
I love the vintage stuff! Food rocks was great, but Kitchen Kabaret was even better!
Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit!
Nate, I think @Jason meant Pi Day (you know, ∏, as in 3.141592…). 🙂
You’re right! He did! 🙂
(If only I listened in Math Class, better.)
Was the Tomorroland image at the Noodle Station?
Hi Timothy – we tried to figure that out (I enlisted the help of my friends at the Walt Disney Archives too). We’re not positive, but we think it’s most likely the Tomorrowland Terrace.
Nate – this post made me smile! Pie and Disney are both American classics and I love to enjoy them both with good friends. Now I need to do a tour of tasty pies around Disney! Though one thing… I am going to call shennanigans on that cherry pie. It is missing a yummy top crust!:)
Is this the pie-eating champion, Patrick that Darcy references above???
We celebrated last night – with pizza pie and apple pie a la mode!!
Perfect! Sounds delicious. 🙂
