These photos, supplied by Walt Disney Imagineering, show smaller details on the Dwarfs’ cottage, which will serve as a charming and scenic exterior that can be spotted when you walk past (or ride a Mine Train through) the attraction. When designing the cottage, Imagineers referenced the film, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” in order to plan details as intricate as the color combination of roof shingles, the slope of the roof’s eaves, the shape of a lanterns, and especially the etched woodland creatures that decorate the house.

  • Is the ride open yet?

  • Planning our first visit to Disney World (I grew up in Southern California going to Disneyland, but going to DW has always been a dream) My husband and I are turning 30 this year, and taking our kids for their first Disney experience. We’re thrilled, it will be magical! We’ll be there 3rd week of May, really hoping this will be ready! Looks so cute and fun!

  • Do you know if they will be having soft openings the end of March to first of April if it isn’t completely open by then? We are there March 29-April 5th. My oldest son has been looking online and watching this develop and we basically chose our trip dates based on the fact it “should” be open by then. Any encouraging words that we may get at least one ride while we are there! My boys would simply be devastated if they don’t get on it! 🙁 Thank you for any info you have!

  • David, I am also going to be there in June. I am as excited about this new ride as I and many others were when Expedition Everest was about to open. That ride did not disappoint at all it is one of my favorites.

  • Will be there March 28 – April 5. Super excited to ride the MINE! Grumpy is our favorite and Dopey is a close second. Sure hope they have a preview for pass holders! Fingers crossed! Maybe the dwarves will be out and about for meet and greet???????? That would be so very AWESOME! We only see them out at the Halloween party and they are such a hit then.

  • Hope it’s open by April 17th! So excited for this ride!

  • Really hoping it’s open by April 3rd! FINGERS & TOES CROSSED!!!

  • Do we have an opening date??!! We will be there April 19th and so anxious to know if we will be able to ride this!

    • Not yet – we hope to know more, soon!

  • I am from Ecuador, also a devoted fan of WDW. Its a fantastic ride, I do have my fingers crossed to enjoy it with my family. I have waited 2 yrs to see this finished. We will be visiting in March.

  • I am ready to go prospecting for some Diamonds!!!

    • 🙂

  • Heigh-Ho, Heigh-Ho, It is off to Disney I go!
My whole family is so excited. We will be making a trip this summer just to ride the mine train. Once construction is over, is there any way I can get my hands on one of those beautiful paintings (playful dwarfs) that has adorned the construction wall. We have some great photos with those and I will miss them, but I will give it up to get on the ride! Love It!

    • I don’t think there are plans for merchandise around those, but we do hope to share an update on “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” items closer to the Mine Train’s debut.

  • I LOVE the Seven Dwarfs! When the Imagineers added the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to the New Fantasyland plans (It wasn’t in the first draft), my heart skipped a beat!

Now please, please tell me that a Dwarfs meet-and-greet area will be part of the design when it is revealed and I will live happily ever after! (Maybe we can meet one dwarf, maybe all seven!)

We all know that the Seven Dwarfs are the MOST popular characters when they do come out of the mine for the Halloween and Christmas parties! Now that the mine is so close, I hope they will come out during the year! (And that we will have much, much more Seven Dwarfs merchandise and (adult) tee shirts, too!

Dopey is my FAVORITE Disney character, and the other six are very special, also. Please make my Dream Come True! 🙂

  • The anticipation is killing me! I hope they release a date ASAP, hoping it’s ready by june!

  • See you in September…. I cannot wait!

  • Hopefully this fall!

    • JoAnn – Opening is set for this spring, we just don’t have a firm date yet. Stay tuned!

  • The Media event is scheduled for April 30-May 2nd so it should be open before that. Hopefully by my trip in two weeks, right?

  • We arrive March 28. I am hoping we get to take a ride. We have been so excited following this attractions process and we are now looking forward to experiencing it’s completion.

Thank you for all the wonderful photos and information.
