At Disney Floral & Gifts we love to help families create magical moments for their loved ones. So when military wife and mother, Brandy Koory, shared her family’s story with us, we knew we wanted to help her create something extra special for them.
In honor of our “Celebrate 14 Days of Love” series we wanted to feature an unforgettable moment for a hero and his family, deserving of recognition for their acts of valor, endurance, and sacrifice.
Air Force Lt. Col Thomas Koory, has devoted his life to his military career, and still manages to be an outstanding husband and father of three girls Emma, Shelby, and Kayla. For the past 18 years of their marriage he’s been on and off tours both stateside and abroad, missing Christmases, birthdays and more.
Just finishing a six month tour in Afghanistan, each of the Koory girls knows how important Dad’s job is, and so, at home they brave through each day without him. Much like the bravery shown in their new favorite film, Disney’s Frozen.
“They love Anna and Elsa,” Brandy shared. “They constantly quote the movie and sing ‘Let it Go’ all the time.”
Brandy shared it is this same film and characters she adores because it teaches her girls a valuable lesson. “The film is all about selfless love,” she said. “Letting your loved ones be who they want, supporting them every step, and being brave while doing it.”
So, in honor of not only her husband’s bravery in his line of duty, but her girls’ everyday bravery at home, we paired up with the Shades of Green Resort right here on property and helped Brandy surprise her daughters with our Presenting Your Royal Princess In-Room Celebration. With tiaras for each princess, sparkling jewelry, framed Princess proclamations and much more, the Koory girls experienced a fairy tale.
