Celebrate 14 Days of Love at Disney Parks: Love is Creating Cherished Memories

Throughout the world, Valentine’s Day is recognized as a holiday for couples. But just as Walt created the Disney Parks for children of all ages, we want to open our heart and share ideas as to how you can express your affection, appreciation and admiration for anyone special in your life, regardless of age. As part of our “Celebrate 14 Days of Love” series, I have an idea that’s a gift to children and parents alike!

At the Disney Parks there is nothing more exciting for a child than meeting a character; seeing and embracing their all time favorite heroes, heroines, princesses and pirates from the films and stories that have played such a role in their childhood in the flesh (or fur). And it’s an equally touching moment for parents, watching the dream of their child come true right before their very eyes.

As if this moment wasn’t magical enough, Disney Floral & Gifts at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts has found a way to extend this magic, making it a once-in-a-lifetime memory.

With both parents and children in mind, Mickey and Minnie’s Valentine Day Surprise is a gift designed not only to allow children to meet their favorite mouse, but receive a gift and return the thoughtful gesture. Not only will children receive a Valentine card from Mickey or Minnie, but will be provided with an opportunity to create one in return, teaching them that holidays are not about receiving, but giving. Once created, children can personally deliver their handmade Valentine at any meet and greet location in the parks and surprise Mickey or Minnie! The child will know they’ve created something so special for that character, and that they will be remembered by them, with a memory to cherish.

We’ve even created a gift for the little ones who may just be too little to understand the memories they’re creating. And though too little to understand, we’ve created a way to capture those first time memories so they can be shared as they grow.

Your little one will be ready for their Disney adventures with all the first-visit essentials like an official autograph book, their first pair of Mickey or Minnie Mouse ears, a cozy blanket and Mickey or Minnie Mouse plush to cuddle with. But the most important piece to this puzzle is the photo memory cards. My First Disney Visit- Valentine’s Day provides parents a way to capture detailed moments to share with those who are not present, and of course share with those too little to remember them for a later time.

Whether it’s their first monorail ride, first castle photo, or their first Disney meltdown, (trust us, it’s bound to happen once) parents will be able to Tweet, Instagram, post on Facebook and text all these cherished memories and more! The gift of a memory is the greatest and most loving gift a parent can give. And watching a child’s wish be granted is just a major plus.

You know what they say: time flies when you’re having fun, and in the place where dreams come true, fun is inevitable. It seems these moments fly away faster than Tinker Bell and, like her trail of pixie dust, they will eventually fade. But although they will soon be in the past, we want to help you remember them, now and always. A gift you can share, and a memory you will cherish forever.
