In the early years, Disneyland park had costumed balloon vendors who sold 25¢ balloons in three areas of the park: Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and near the main entrance. Of course, guests can still purchase the time-honored souvenir from balloon vendors like Nick Lanham in Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park. In this “Every Role a Starring Role,” Nick talks about his tricks of the trade and memories as a balloon vendor at the Disneyland Resort!

  • My three-year-old had her first visit to Disneyland in October. We purchased one of the light-up Mickey balloons for her. She loved it. It came home with us and weeks later the balloon was still going strong. It was a nice reminder of all the fun we had on our trip. She looks forward to getting another balloon on our next trip to Disney.

  • People like this young man, who clearly love their jobs, and care so very much make me so happy and proud to be American. these folks show their Disney Side” everyday at the parks. and knowing that people come from all over the world to “this happy place” and see the warmth and kindness of an American heart, gives me pride. These young folks act as role models every day, living and breathing testaments to the American spirit. Not only do they cultivate fun on ones vacation, but should truly be a source of pride for all.

  • The Mickey balloons are the best! I bought a purple one last year on my honeymoon during the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I brought the balloon home with me (ten-hour drive) and it never started to deflate until December. I deflated it the balloon in January only because we moved from an apartment to our new house. $12 dollars well spent!
