If you’ve read several of my previous Disney Parks Blog articles, you’ll know I’m a super fan of the Orange Bird. This classic Disney Parks character returned to the Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland in 2012. Since then, we’ve released a few merchandise items with this happy little character including shirts, an ear hat, a figurine, some pins and more. Today, I’m excited to share the newest Orange Bird treat – a decorative candy apple! I was so excited that I got dressed up in my Orange Bird best!
The apple has a caramel base that is covered in orange sugar and other decorative elements. I believe the secret ingredient is sunshine because seeing him makes me smile.
You can find this apple at the Main Street Confectionery and Big Top Souvenirs in Magic Kingdom Park today. He will be found at additional locations following the event.

Wow! I said hi to you yesterday morning! I said it was a niche costume, but I liked it. I just finished trying to describe your costume to a friend of mine, I’m glad I found a picture of it.
@Jordan – Nice to see you! I hope you had a great time at the party. Keep thinking happy orange thoughts 🙂
The outfit reminds me more of the Robin Williams lost boy character in the old Animation Tour.
I LOVE ORANGE BIRD. I looked for a t-shirt or something and I couldn’t find anything. Did I miss them? 🙁 I want one.
Your costume is AWESOME!!! Also, the apple is really cute! I hope to try it soon.
Will there be Orange Bird apples at Disneyland? My niece loves Orange Bird!
@George – That’s a great question. I’ll have to confirm with the Consumables team.
My daughter is completely obsessed with orange bird!!! She has pins, the cup, she stole my D23 shirt!!!! She is after the vinylmation, but I am hesitant to get that, since it is a surprise on which one you get….
@Theresa – That’s great! She has wonderful taste 🙂
Awesome costume. Would LOVE to see that hat available for sale again.
@Danielle – Glad you liked it. I’ve had a few similar requests for the ear hats today. Unfortunately, we don’t have immediate plans to carry it again.
This apple is definitely something I will want to try when we are at WDW next! I love caramel apples and the ones at Disney World are always the best!! We always make a point to stop at Sunshine Tree Terrace to get a few citrus swirls. I just wish they offered an orange juice or orange drink option for the orange bird souvenir cup. Our children do not drink soda and that was our only option. No matter what we will keep returning because we love that little bird :-)!
I remember the Orange Bird from when I used to go as a kid. I got a little orange bird drink cup a couple years ago at MK. Alas the paint on his face wasn’t durable and wiped off a bit.
