On Friday, May 2 at Magic Kingdom Park, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs announced that the “crowning jewel” of New Fantasyland, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, will officially open on May 28.

During this morning’s ceremony, Tom was joined by Disney Princess Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as he invited everyone to celebrate the addition of the final component to New Fantasyland.
“Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is both literally and figuratively the centerpiece of New Fantasyland, so we knew it had to be something special,” Tom said. “The attraction appeals to everyone in the family and provides just the right blend of heart, humor, and thrill while keeping with the charm of this special land.”
The family-style coaster features an innovative new ride system that allows cars to swing back and forth as they travel down the track. The cars are even designed to reflect similar vehicles that appear in the film, handmade of wood by the Dwarfs, shaped by an axe, and used to haul rocks and jewels.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train also uses the latest in technology featuring some of the most advanced and charming Audio-Animatronics figures we’ve ever created. Adding to the fun, the journey will be accompanied by music from the film classic and scenes filled with Snow White, the Seven Dwarfs and playful forest critters.
We have much more to share in the weeks before the attraction opens on May 28, so be sure to keep checking the Disney Parks Blog for updates.

I have looked to request fastpass+ for June 3rd. It is not available. Are they all reserved?
Can’t find it when I go to change my Fast Pass online :(. I am hoping they are not all gone already.
I rode it today.. Right place at the right time.. They did a soft opening..
I’ve been trying to book for June 7th, but it does not show up as an option for Fastpass, is this because there are no more available?
There are fastpasses available for the ride. I just got ours for June 22! I am wondering what is the height restriction on this ride?
Are all the fastpasses gone?
Usually Annual Passholders are invited to a preview, will we have that opportunity for the Mine Car ?
Hey everybody…just think soft opening!! Disney always does this…just keep checking back at the attraction. You’ll get on!!
We leave to come home on the 28th. 🙁 Hoping, hoping, hoping for some soft opening rides.
got my fast pass on! yea!
SOOOOOO EXCITED! I am going May 30-June 6 and we have been logging on everyday since we could make our fastpass+ choices and on Friday when we logged on in the morning we were able to get fastpasses for all 3 days we are going!
Correction on dates:
Dear Tinkerbell — please please please wave your magic fairy dust over the park and our Grand Floridian room Mother’s Day weekend to make it a magical trip and a soft opening of Mine Train. We will still have a magical time if you can’t deliver. We were hoping Spring meant March or April, just like a fall pumpkin trip wouldn’t happen December 1-20th at the end of fall season. Fingers crossed for you Tink!! Delight us! P.S. We will still love you if we have to wait for our 2017 vacation.

Have my FPP+ already to go!! See you in June!
Will the opening of the Mine Train on May 28 include some type of special grand opening festivities?
We won’t let it ruin our vacation… we’re so happy to be going!
For all of you complaining that this is “not exactly a SPRING opening”, the first day of Summer is June 21. The entire month of May is, indeed, SPRING.
We are going in ten days and hoping there will be a soft opening that we can catch while we’re there.
Good thoughts #93, I agree that there will be plenty of “Magic” to go around. However, My family is from Kansas and we don’t get to just “hop on over to Disney” every year. We are here with our 4 kids and you can imagine the $$ that goes into a trip like this, along with a LOT of time and energy in planning all the meet and greets and special dinners. Since we have only been 2 times, we were hoping to catch this brand new ride and were surprised with the official opening announcement being set for May 2, that he announced the opening to be so late in May. I think there should be a way to receive a special invite to ride this ride. I am here now and there are people riding this ride..who? I have no idea.
