Disney Parks Moms Panel Search Begins September 2

UPDATE: We are no longer accepting applications for the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I want to thank everyone who applied and shared their passion for Disney Parks. Be sure to check back right here on the Disney Parks Blog for future updates on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

In my many years with Disney Parks, I’ve been fortunate to work on many amazing projects. One project near and dear to my heart will always be the creation and launch of the Walt Disney World Moms Panel in 2008.

The panel, made up of everyday moms and dads from around the globe, have answered hundreds of thousands of questions over the years – covering just about every Disney vacation topic imaginable. Their knowledge of Disney Parks and their passion to help our guests shines in their answers. In fact, you’ve met quite a few of them here on the Disney Parks Blog.

The panel became so popular that several years ago it was expanded to include other Disney Parks vacation experiences. The name was officially changed to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

September has traditionally been a special month for the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It’s when we search for new panelists to join the team for the next calendar year. It’s a rigorous and thorough process, consisting of multiple rounds, that determines who will be selected to represent the panel and answer vacation questions from guests around the globe.

Thousands will apply for a small number of spots on the panel. But please, don’t let that be a deterrent. The most recent panelists to join the team include several who have applied every year, a few who applied for the very first time, and those in between. Dreams really can come true.

This year, applications will open at 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, and will remain open until noon ET on Friday, September 5, 2014.

If you know a mom, dad or grandparent who is your “go-to” person for advice about a Disney Parks vacation and loves to help others plan their trips, encourage them to apply for the Disney Parks Moms Panel. (Be sure to check the rules and regulations on the application to insure eligibility.)

More information about becoming a panelist can be found here.

  • Hello Everyone!

I am also curious as to how long before the “new Moms” are announced. Has anyone that applied heard anything?

    Have a magical day!

  • Hello!

I’m just curious – how long does it normally take to pick the new “Moms”? I’m sure there a just TONS of applications to go through, but I’m just so excited to meet the new pieces Moms Panel!

Thanks so much for all of this, and have a practically perfect day!

  • Where do you go to apply?

  • I’m having trouble accessing the application as apparently the page is down 🙁 But I’m very interested in applying and hoping to get in before the deadline!

  • Is this a paid or voluntarily position?

  • Time to select a boomer or two!! Preferably one from Texas that’s an annual passholder. We can advise empty nesters and new grandparents on what to do when they visit. Hope I’m selected.

  • Hopping to be selected as part of the Portuguese panel!

  • Do you have to be a mom to apply? My niece and I go all the time. She is like my daughter, but is actually my sister’s daughter.

  • This will be my second time applying. I am excited just for the application process.

  • Today is the day and the count down has begun! I can’t wait!

  • How exciting. Looking forward to reading new perspectives on planning for, and enjoying Disney magic! Pixie dust to all this year’s applicants!

  • I can’t wait to put my application in again for the opportunity to be on the Mom’s Panel. I love all things Disney and go to Disney World often. Good luck to all the moms and dads attempting to join this panel.

    THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This will be my first time trying to be on the Moms Panel, because I have always missed the window. The magical part of it is that I will be at Walt Disney World from September 1-September 6, so I’ll have lots of magical inspiration for my application! Current moms, wish me luck! I consider my specialty to be Disney Cruise Line– I have oodles of tips for families sailing with Mickey! I imagine the details of the application will be kept secret until Tuesday. We plan to be at Magic Kingdom on Tuesday. Is there any opportunity to apply in person during the application window?

  • Is there a link to the rules somewhere?
Will there still be the same rule about having visited within a year? If so, what are the specifics of this? I’d love to enter but we returned from our last trip on August 30th 2013. If the limit is a year, a year from when? If it’s a year before the closing date I’ll miss out by a couple of days 🙁
By the way, love the panel, have used them many times 🙂

  • My family says I should apply; I think I will this year 🙂

  • Ooh I would love this, what does the application normally entail?

  • Hi there! I’ve been checking back regularly for this very announcement! However, I’m having a hard time actually finding the application… Can you direct me to where I can find the application rules, etc? Thanks! Ashley

  • I have been waiting anxiously for this announcement! Here’s hoping this is my year to help share the Disney magic!

  • Hi Leanne, I loved reading this particular Disney Parks Blog post in great anticipation of applying for a spot on the panel. I love how the panel helps future and returning guests with their questions about travel to the Disney Parks, travelling with Adventures by Disney, Disney Cruise Line, participating in the many runDisney and ESPN Wide World of Sports events, relaxing in Hawai’i at Aulani-A Disney Resort and Spa and by sharing information about the Disney Vacation Club.

Thank you Leanne, Gary and the rest of the Disney Parks Moms Panel recruiting team, your dedication, enthusiasm, clear communication of information and super fun Twitter parties makes the entire process a lot of fun. Plus, making new friends along the way is priceless.

    Thank you so much,
    Jackie

  • Yay! So excited to see that this is up for grabs again this year!

  • Can single people without children also apply?

  • Leanne,
The news of the date for applying for the Disney Parks Mom’s Panel always brings excitement and the feeling of hope for those of us who have been applying since 2008.
I know how important a job this is and that the dreams and spreading of Pixie Dust to other families is something I for one take very seriously. It’s my passion, my mission, my love. Planning for friends, family and everyone in between brings that sense of accomplishment and magical memories created!
I’m looking forward to applying again and hopeful that my light shines through!
    Wishes, Dreams and Positiveity

    • Good luck to you and all the applicants!

  • Well now, if that isn’t the best news I’ve heard all day! 🙂

  • Welcome to the blog Ms. Leanne!

    • Thanks Skip. Excited to be here!

  • Amanda, Applications from Canadians have been welcomed in the past. I am sure that they will be welcomed again this year! There have been many amazing Canadians on the panel over the years. 🙂

  • Hey all,
Yes dads, our UK friends, and Canadians can all apply for the Moms Panel, and there are actually “moms” in all of those groups currently on the panel.
Hope that helps! And good luck and pixie dust to everyone! 🙂

  • Do you have to have children to apply?

  • To those above who asked questions: The word “Moms” includes anyone interested in sharing Disney Parks knowledge and advice. The current panel includes “moms” who are dads. Grandparents also are invited to apply. Currently, there is a panelist from Canada and also from the UK.

  • Benjamin – You can apply to the Mom’s panel! Good luck!

  • Sending lots of luck and pixie dust to those applying this year!

  • Yet another year applying, but not complaining because applying is part of the fun. Have met some many wonderful moms and dads vying for a spot on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Let the games begin!

  • It’s like Christmas morning for us hopefuls! Can’t wait!

  • YAY! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Anxiously waiting to toss my ears in the ring….again (believe this will be my 7th shot? I’ve lost count!)

  • Thanks for letting us know. I’ve seen dreams come true for many friends thus far. I’m excited to know some of them were first time applicants.

  • Can’t wait! Fingers crossed that this is my year to join the Moms Panel! Good luck to all who apply!

  • Is there a Disney Parks Dads Panel too, or should we apply to Moms Panel?

  • How about applications from little ol’ England?? 😀 xx

    • Of course! We’ve had several moms on the panel from the U.K.

  • Thank you for the heads up, Leanne! It’s so encouraging to know that a few of the most recent panelists were first-time applicants.

  • Hi Leanne,
This is such an awesome opportunity. I understand that the rules will be on the application, but before I get too excited could you tell me if Canadian residents can apply? Thanks 🙂

    • Yes, we encourage Canadian residents to apply each year.

  • Is this for parents only? Or can adults with no children apply?

  • A wonderful post with great words of encouragement. You are so right, Leanne. All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them. I look forward to chEARing on this year’s applicants. By the way, I love your new head shot, Mrs. O’Regan! 😀

    Bob A.
