Disney Cruise Line Premieres Messaging Through Onboard Mobile App

Our mobile Navigator app is now premiering messaging capabilities so you can stay connected with your family and friends onboard. This new chat function joins a long list of great features in the app, including maps of the ship and Castaway Cay and information about dining, entertainment, ports of call, shopping, youth clubs, character experiences and more.

Any Disney cruiser will tell you that our daily Personal Navigator, a quick glance at all of the fun things you can do onboard, is the key to planning your perfect cruise agenda. Our mobile app is the electronic version of the Navigator, and it allows you to see activities for the whole cruise all at once. Plus, you can save your favorites to one convenient list and get notifications when the activity is about to begin. The app is available for Apple and Andriod smartphones and is free to download and use.

To find out more details about the app and see some of its coolest features, go to this page on and check out the video. If you’ve used the app, let us know in the comments your favorite part about it.

  • Please make this available on the Microsoft phones as well!

  • To follow up on what Juliana has asked – will there be a version of this app for Windows Phones?

  • We were on the Fantasy in October (<3 that ship!) and loved having the app. I have to admit, my favorite part is being able to see all the dinner menus from my table lol!

I just went to the cruise site to watch the video; I watched it 3 times and don't see anything about a chat/messaging feature. My next cruise is a year off, so I'll have to wait to try it out!

Does this mean the end of the wave phones?

It would also be great if I could sync my favorite activities to my phone's calendar, and customize an alarm tone. The app's notification only works if I keep the app open.

  • Will DCL make this app available for Microsoft smartphones?

  • I have used this great app on a few cruises that my wife and I have been on, wonderful tool and a great addition to the Navigator. Looking forward to using the new chat feature next week on board the Magic.

  • I was onboard the Disney Fantasy the second week of November and was able to take advantage of this fabulous app! It was a great tool to keep in contact with my two boys while they enjoyed Edge and the Oceaneer Club! We were able to keep in constant communication and allowed for all to do their own thing and then meet up! Thanks!
