I’m happy to announce that Made With Magic items are now available at Disney Parks. You may recall my recent Disney Parks Blog article about Made With Magic, the new name for products that light up and interact with select Disney experiences at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. I recently visited Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to get a first hand look at these new products.

As the sun set on another beautiful Florida day, I saw these items in action at the top of the Hollywood Hills Theater just before seating opened for the first Fantasmic! show. We currently offer a Disney ear hat, a Minnie Mouse headband and a Sorcerer Mickey wand. A light-up Mickey Mouse glove will be coming to Disney Parks in spring 2015. Each Made With Magic item has a retail of $30.00 (that retail includes tax).

My favorite item is the Sorcerer Mickey wand as it has the ability to change other Made With Magic items. It’s pretty easy to use. To change the color patterns on the wand, press the artist pallet button. Once you find a color pattern you like, you can press the wand button to change other Made With Magic items. I changed an entire display of Disney ear hats with just one wand (I wonder if I can use this wand to clean up my apartment as that would be amazing).

Look for these items in select merchandise locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and at Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. Guests in California can find these items in various merchandise locations in Disneyland park and in Disney’s California Adventure park.

  • I got one of the wands and a glow bow this week at WDW. OMG how FUN!!! I was having a blast going around and making people’s ears flash!

  • Hello Steven–This may be off topic, but why aren’t the pins being updated on disneyparksmerchandise? For example, the December releases for WDW do not show any gingerbread houses or resort Christmas pins, but they are available on, er, ebay so even from California I can see they have been for sale! What gives? (-:3

  • We bought the magic wands at Disneyland this past weekend to use during Fantasmic. I wish they had come with some sort of instructions, because we had no idea about changing the colors.

  • Will these be available in Disneyland Paris any time soon? I’m in Disneyland Paris now and would live a Magic Wand for my Ears!

    • @Kristofer – I’ve not heard any plans to release the Sorcerer Mickey wand at Disneyland Paris. I’m guessing it will be carried at a future date. All of the Made With Magic items can be used at Disney Parks around the world.

  • @James: your comment made my day. LOVE IT!

  • Steven, can you confirm if these items have replaceable batteries? Want to make sure we can continue to use these items whenever we want or if we have to very carefully ration our use. Thanks!

    • @Mark – From my understanding, the batteries are replacable. You’ll need a small screwdriver to remove the battery cover.

  • “Make it pink!” “Make it blue!” “Make it pink!” “Make it blue!”

    • @James – Ha! That’s the best. I thought the same thing when I first saw the wand.

  • Great news Steven!

I really hope these new items take off and increase the Guest participation in all the Made With Magic (aka Glow With The Show) experiences. It really is best when there are a lot of Guests wearing the Mickey ear hats and now the Minnie bows.

I also like the wand the best because of its ability to change the colors of the other Made With Magic items.

Looking forward to seeing this Made With Magic take off here in the US Disney Parks!
