It may still be November, but I bet many of you are already thinking ahead and starting to make plans for New Year’s Eve. Well, if you’re going to be ringing in 2015 at Walt Disney World Resort, here’s a rundown of some of the entertainment we have planned for this year’s celebration.
- Epcot – It’s a night-long party throughout Epcot, with unique entertainment including a DJ and light show at the Future World Fountain Stage, dancing under flame effects and a smoke-billowing dragon in China, a British blast to the past in United Kingdom, Euro-pop and lasers in Italy, and a Latin band and DJ on the America Gardens Stage. Cap it all off with one of two showings of “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” fireworks, at 6:00 p.m. or 11:40 p.m., followed by a countdown and pyrotechnic salute to the new year.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Exclusive specialty drinks and food items are available throughout the night, as the Event Stage comes alive with an energetic DJ and performances by Mulch, Sweat & Shears. As midnight approaches, the band takes the stage to count down to 2015 and plays live during a jaw-dropping fireworks spectacular.
- Magic Kingdom Park – You can get a head start on the festivities, with a special New Year’s Eve eve presentation of “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30. The same show will be repeated on December 31.
So tell me … what are you doing New Year’s Eve?

Is Disneyland Resort not celebrating this year?
Steven – Of course they are! Both parks at Disneyland Resort will be ringing in the new year with special entertainment, just as they’ve always done. This post is specifically about what’s happening at Walt Disney World Resort.
We’ve been every other NYE for the past few years. We spend the day at Animal Kingdom, since without fireworks, it’s much less crowded. Then we watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Top of the World lounge at Bay Lake Tower. Worth the price of DVC just for that show once a year.
Paul – Sounds like a plan!
MK 12/30, Epcot 12/31! I call it Pyropalooza – my favorite time of year at the parks!
As a veteran of both Epcot and Magic Kingdom NYE festivities, let me offer the single biggest piece of advice to anyone attempting this: bring LOTS of patience. Just enjoy the spectacle!
I was at Epcot for NYE a few years ago – a bucket list item. It is indeed the most crowded day of the year, very expensive resort rooms and much patience is needed. It was the most fantastic NYE of my life as well! Epcot is a fun place to be on NYE and a fireworks show not to be missed!!
We are staying at Saratoga Springs Resort over New Year’s Eve. Are the resorts having any activities for NYE?
This is a must-do for anyone visiting Walt Disney World Resort this New Years. Many years we spent enjoying the magic to the max festivities and they are second to none!
Done Magic Kingdom & Epcot New Years eve celebrations many times. They were the best New Years Eve celebrations ever. One giant hint about doing these very, very, very, excessively crowded nights-> Book a room on a Disney grounds. If you stay off grounds and drive you will sit in the parking lot a long time to leave.
Rick from IL- Yes to your question. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside one New Years (close to Saratoga Springs) and stayed on the grounds. The cast set up a giant screen outside and had a party for the countdown. At midnight you could see through the trees and hear the fireworks going off at Epcot & I believe Hollywood Studios (maybe it was MK). Suggestion: Brink a blanket for your kids to sac out on the grass while they wait.
Paul from ON mentioned watching the fireworks from Top of the world lounge. As a fellow DVC member, I was planning on doing exactly that. Should I reserve or do we have to be staying on property to eat and have drinks there?
What’s going on at Downtown Disney for NYE? We’re worried about the parks being so crowded for NYE.
Downtown Disney will not offer fireworks, but will have regularly scheduled entertainment for your enjoyment.
Will disney quest be offering tickets in advance for their NYE celebration? Are they having anything special?
Please help!! I just won a trip to Disney from my work. It is Dec 30- Jan 2. I want to experanice New Years Eve not sure where to go or what to needs to be done so I don’t miss anything. Heard it gets crowded and you might not be let in the parks.
I have reservations at the All-Star Movies resort, will they be having any activities for NYE?
