Talking a walk through the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has become a family tradition for many Disney Parks guests – including my own family.

This year’s display of millions of twinkle lights may feature a spinning carousel of angels, bright toy soldiers, and Santa and his reindeer – but if you look closer, it also features plenty of hidden surprises, such as specific nods to Disney films and television shows, as well as 80 hidden Mickeys!

We recently stopped by Disney’s Hollywood Studios after hours for a behind-the-scenes tour with Show Director John Phelan, as he gave us some hints on what to look for. Check out the video below and get ready for your next trip!

  • I was absolutely awed by this spectacle! This year was the first time I had the privilege of seeing these lights and I cannot wait to do it again 🙂 What topped it off was meeting Santa Goofy, I had no idea you could meet him here!

    • LOVE Santa Goofy. Too cute.

  • Thanks for sharing! Now I will have things to look for when we visit the light show this weekend! I loved it so much last year went several times!

    • I hope you enjoy it!

  • Knew there were a lot, but had no idea there were 80 Hidden Mickeys.

I think back during the first weekend they integrated a little DJ banter about this where one proudly proclaimed he had found 9 and thought that was it! His co-host claimed a number I think around 46.

I didn’t personally try to count how many I could find, but saw a bunch of those little ones made from a cluster of lights. (The basketball one was pretty neat too!)

This was my first time visiting DHS for Osborne, and I hope to again someday. This was a fantastic show!

    • I’m happy you enjoyed it, David. Happy holidays! 🙂
