The Force is growing stronger here at Walt Disney World Resort as the galaxy prepares for this year’s Star Wars Weekends. If you’re as big a fan of the annual Disney’s Hollywood Studios event as I am, you’ll be excited to learn that several crowd-favorites are back in 2015, including James Arnold Taylor! Known for voicing characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” Taylor will host the Stars of the Saga talk show with everyone’s favorite stormtrooper preshow at a new, larger location in Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard.
Darth’s Mall is also moving to a new and expanded complex near Streets of America, where you can find Star Wars-themed and exclusive event merchandise just for Star Wars Weekends 2015.
One of my favorite out-of-this-world experiences to catch this year is the Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine at Hollywood and Vine. My day just wouldn’t be complete without dinner surrounded by my favorite Disney pals dressed in their Star Wars best!
The galaxy won’t be so far, far away when beloved and iconic Star Wars characters assemble and “Summon the Force” each night for a grand celebration, including a look back at your greatest moments throughout the day on social media. For the finale, the night sky will erupt in an interstellar frenzy of fireworks as “Symphony in the Stars” salutes the saga’s most dramatic stories and brings you as close to the Force as you can get.
We’re still gathering all your favorite droids and scoundrels, so stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog and StarWars.com for the latest updates. As we announced in December, the fun comes to our galaxy Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 15 – June 14, 2015. Check out StarWarsWeekends.com for all the must-know event details.
Are you planning on joining the Force? If so, which characters are you looking forward to seeing the most? For my boys, it’s the Jawas – they love to trade with those little guys! Let us know your favorites in the comments!

Can you tell me what time the Star Wars fire works are on 7th June? Thanks
Is it less crowded on Fridays as opposed to Sundays?
Well I answered my own question; Feel the Force package is up for 2015. $69 Adults, $39 Child
Very excited to be going back to Star Wars Weekends. We are trying to finalize our plans and would really like to have the celebrity schedule. Thank you!
ANY updates about premium packages?????? or anything really????/ THANKS
Do you know what time Symphony in the Stars will occur at during the Star Wars weekends? Is it at 9pm? If you do not know, do you happen to know whether the time will be listed in the times schedule?
Any word if they are having the Feel the Force Premium Package again this year? I know you mentioned you would know towards the end of March, any word?
Are there going to be any Episode VII tie-ins or merchandise?
Please announce celebrities soon Disney! Some of us need to book , but can’t if we are waiting to see the line up! I am super excited though!
Alison – The team is working hard on getting all the celebrity guests confirmed. We’ll let you know as soon as we have the list.
Darth Maul. I love Darth Maul. Meeting Darth Maul would be the ultimate treat for my entire family (ok, me mostly, but they are well brainwashed by Mommy). Maybe we’ll bring Santa hats and if we get a photo op with him we can make it our Christmas photo!
Is the Symphony in the Sky Fireworks only scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or will it happen Monday-Thursday as well? TIA
Jennifer – “Symphony in the Stars” is the pyrotechnic finale to an exciting day of Star Wars Weekends fun, so it’s only presented on event days.
Thanks so much for the response Shawn!
Will they have the big figures this year? Missed getting the Mickey Jedi.
Is there a time frame when we can expect to hear about the Feel the Force Premium Package or something similar this year. That is the last piece of our planning we are waiting on.
Eric – We hope to have details about premium packages and other aspects of the event ironed out by the end of March, so look for more information at that time.
My family and I booked our first Star Wars weekend. Each member of the family is super excited! We don’t know what to expect or what to plan for, can’t wait to see the event schedule! Oh did I mention that my kids are 28, 25 and 21?!!
Our family is visiting Disney for the first time in June. Although the character dining is sold out already, what do recommend we not miss, as far as Star Wars ?? My boys are 8 and 10 and love Star Wars. Thanks
Katie – During Star Wars Weekends, a wide variety of Star Wars characters can be found, both roaming and at designated locations throughout the park. A highlight for my family is the Legends of the Force Motorcade. Stake out a spot early for that one! It’s the best way to see all the celebrity guests and most of the characters. I also really recommend James Arnold Taylor’s show, “Obi Wan and Beyond.” He’s such a talented performer!
Hi all,
In the past, is merchandise sold at Darth’s Mall restocked daily or just once a weekend? My concern is will limited edition items possibly be gone on Sunday because there is a chance they will be bought up Friday and not restocked til the next weekend or are they restocked each morning Friday, Saturday, Sunday?
Thanks!
Matt – I checked with my friends on the Merchandise team, and they have confirmed that all Star Wars Weekends items (including limited editions) will be sold on a first come, first served basis. They place all quantities on the floor as soon as they have them and do not hold back items for each day or subsequent weekends. The only exception would be for limited items (such as Vinylmation) with specific release dates later in the event.
Are you planning on joining the Force? Wouldn’t miss it! We have been going as a family since 2004!
If so, which characters are you looking forward to seeing the most?
I really hope that we will see Han Solo as a character this year. My son was so excited and hopeful when he spotted him in the Disney Christmas Parade on television Christmas Day.
Thanks for the exciting update, Shawn – love the poster! Any word on special events taking place on May the 4th this year? I’m hopeful! 🙂
unfortunately all the dining is completely sold out for each weekend. I had the CM check yesterday more than once.
Sylvia – Although the dining experiences may be booked for the event days, there is still availability Monday-Thursday. The Star Wars character dining offerings are being held daily from May 4 to June 14.
I booked a Star Wars Character breakfast at the Sci-Fi Dine In for a Weds. morning since that is the only time I could find. I know the events are on Fri, Sat and Sun. Does this mean the breakfast will not be character dining even though I booked it under the “Star Wars Character Dining at Sci-Fi” page? Thanks!
Elizabeth – You’re all set! Star Wars characters will be appearing for breakfast at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant every morning, between May 4 and June 14.
Will there be another desert party to view the parades and fireworks like last year?
Do you know if they are planning to do the carbon-freeze likeness and figure this year?
Tim – Steven Miller will have an update soon on all the cool Star Wars Weekends merchandise for 2015, including the D-Tech Me experience and figurines.
We loved the Star Wars themed fireworks last year! We’re hoping they’ll expand it to a full 20 minute show!
I realize these weekends are considered a single event, but “Star Wars Weekends is Getting Closer” still gives my inner grammar checker a cringe.
😉
Is the D-Tech me experience coming back this year? I would love to schedule this for my husband again, he really loved doing this in 2013.
Wow! That poster is stunning! Do you know if there will be any special packages this year, like the “Feel the Force” package from last year?
Theodora – We’re still working out all the details, but hope to have news soon. Stay tuned!
My favorite thing to do during SWW is visit Ashley Eckstein at the Her Universe booth, and getting to see the new additions to her awesome Star Wars fanGIRL clothing line!
Will the Star Wars shows inside Theater of the Stars be cancelled because of weather? since it’s an open air theater?
yulady – Theater of the Stars is open air, but it’s covered. Shows are expected to be able to continue during inclement weather.
That poster is amazing. So excited for the event this year.
Do you know if there will be an event similar to “Rebel Rendezvous” when the Darth Mall was opened on Thursday? It was very enjoyable last year.
Ethan and Mitchell – Steven Miller will have news about this year’s Star Wars Weekends merchandise very soon. Watch the blog!
I am super excited to meet Darth Maul this year.
is that the logo for this year?
Joseph – Yes! This is the key art developed for this year’s event.
I hope there is another Rebel Rendezvous merchandise event this year like you had in 2014! Any plans for one this year?
