Whether you’re a Jedi-in-training or the Jedi Master of the family, you’re in for an out-of-galaxy experience when you sail on the Disney Fantasy in early 2016! Today we announced a brand-new, day-long celebration aboard eight special sailings on the Disney Fantasy: Star Wars Day at Sea.
Occurring one day during each of eight Disney Fantasy sailings, Star Wars Day at Sea will transport guests to a galaxy far, far away — in the Western Caribbean. The event features a full day of Star Wars celebrations, including a deck party, meet-and-greets with favorite characters, Star Wars-themed youth activities, unique food and beverage offerings, and special merchandise. Also featured will be exclusive at-sea screenings of the Star Wars films and the new Disney XD animated series, Star Wars Rebels.
Star Wars Day at Sea will be on Disney Fantasy cruises sailing on January 9, 23; February 6, 20; March 5, 19; April 2 and 16, 2016. Departing from Port Canaveral, the seven-night Western Caribbean itinerary includes Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and our private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay.
This event marks the first official appearance of the heroes and villains of Star Wars aboard our ships. Next week, I’ll share even more details about the intergalactic fun we have planned for Star Wars Younglings, Padawans and Jedi Masters alike!

This is a great idea but has anyone took into account that the dates listed , Kids will be in school ? To me these dates doesn’t make any sense and for a 7 day cruise at that. To many kids will miss out . Disney cruises I thought were about the ” kids” .Hello ? Who dropped the ball on this ?
Will there be any restrictions on the costumes re:
1.) Weapons? Can we bring blasters? Lightsabers?
2.) What if the costume is *too* good (i.e., as good or better than the CM costumes)? Will we be asked to take ours off?
Will Mickey and Minnie get into the Star Wars Spirit, too, as they do for Star Wars Weekends?
If this does not replace pirate night will we have 2 nights of fireworks? Will special merchandise be available to all cruises? We are booked at the last sailing but don’t want to miss out on Merch.
Thanks!
Jonathan, is there any chance Star Wars Day at Sea might be added to the Eastern Caribbean itineraries?
Everyone is overlooking the most important question of all – will they be screening Star Wars The Force Awakens onboard when it opens December 18, 2015???
Any chance of this happening in 2017? We can’t make it out next year, but would LOVE to do this when we go on our first Disney cruise!
OMG, You think there is any way to get DCL to do the “Imperial March” on as a Ship Horn? “BUM BUM BUM Ba BaBUM baBaBUM…..”
I need information for buying tickets for this voyage. Can you share the link to buy?
This sounds amazing, looking to book the Jan 9th cruise!
Meeting with all your favorite Star wars characters will be amazing just think about it your on a Disney cruise with a day of Star wars that’s what any young star wars fan would dream of,plus watching a Star wars film with the Characters there it’s just mind blowing
Anderson – I don’t know what the Disney folks sign with, but there is an organization called the 501st Legion. It is a charity organization where one can only join when that have an approved Imperial costume. Many if not most of the members have Stormtrooper costumes that are all film replicas of the highest quality. Their mottos is “Bad Guys Doing Good” and they spend lots of time at hospitals and other charity events.
They would sign their TK number which is a number assigned to them by the Legion. The TK reference comes from the original Star Wars movie when Han and Luke lure two StormTroopers up into the Falcon to surprise them and take their armor. An Imperial Officer calls down to them “TK 421, why aren’t you at your post”. Hence the TK number for all 501st members. Some numbers have different letters depending on if they are another costumed Imperial (Officer, Vader, SnowTrooper,TIE Pilot, etc). Hope this answers your question.
We already booked for Texas spring break – March 12 and right in between the two March star wars cruises. Please add more dates!
I just booked the January 23 sailing and couldn’t be more happier, my favourite ship and the excitement of Star Wars at Sea!
See ya real soon!
Ahoy,
Jackie
The second picture in this blog makes me wonder – what exactly do Storm Troopers sign when asked for an autograph? Do they just put Storm Trooper, or do they have names like Storm Trooper Bob?
Yes!! Please add them to the Eastern ones too. We leave on the 16th of January…My husband and kids would LOVE THIS!!!!! They love star wars rebels…:( Hate to miss this
Thank you so much for this information!!.
I have a question.
This celebration will replace “Pirates in the Caribbean”? or will be an additional night celebration?
Will this replace Pirate Night, or be in addition to that event?
All of this new intergalactic fun is in addition to our swashbuckling pirate festivities, so be sure to bring costumes for both!
Add them to the Eastern Itineraries too please!
Wahoo! We’ve been waiting for this since the Disney-Star Wars merger happened. We can’t wait!!
