Last summer, we opened the Marketplace Co-Op at Downtown Disney Marketplace in Florida. This flexible space location serves as a testing ground for new retail shop concepts, products and guest experiences. Shortly after it opened in June 2014, we added a small fixture that featured products from the WonderGround Gallery at Downtown Disney District in California. Today, I’m excited to announce that the WonderGround Gallery will be expanding beginning in early March 2015.

To celebrate this newest addition, I invite you to attend a grand opening event on March 6-7. We will have a few artists making appearances both days including Jasmine Beckett Griffith, Robert Jimenez and Jerrod Maruyama.

Moving into WonderGround Gallery’s former space is The Sign Shop, which will carry an assortment of Disney Parks-inspired signs similar to ones offered at Disney Centerpiece and at select Art of Disney locations. We will release some new items including a Hollywood Tower Hotel sign by Disney Design Group Artist Richard Terpstra, a mermaid image by Tony Harris, and some unique photography pieces by Michael Lewis Glover (he will also be attending the grand opening weekend).

I hope to see you there!

  • So happy about the WonderGround Gallery Expansion! Will be there Friday & Saturday!

  • I am so beyond excited about this news. I LOVE WonderGround Gallery in California and have always wished that the art sold there would be sold in Walt Disney World. The artists that make art for WonderGround Gallery are so fantastic and unique. I am very happy to see that their art will now be available on both coasts and hope more artist signings/appearances take place at WonderGround Gallery in the Co-Op in the future.

What are the hours for the artist appearances on March 6 and 7?

    • @Lauren – Glad to hear you are happy 🙂 Here are the times that the artists will be appearing at the Marketplace Co-Op:

      1:00–3:30 p.m. – Michael Lewis Glover & Jerrod Maruyama

      5-7:30 p.m. – Jasmine Becket-Griffith & Robert Jimenez

  • I’m bummed to hear about Beautifully Disney as well. I bought some nail polish last September and love it! I was hoping the Frozen set of shadows, lipstick, and polish would be available on line. Alas, ’tis not to be. Maybe the makeup will be brought back at a later date. One can hope!

    • @Connie – You may want to contact our Merchandise Guest Services team by telephone at 877-560-6477 or by email at Merchandise.Guest.Services@DisneyParks.com. For now, they may be able to assist you with ordering select Beautifully Disney items.

  • Great news!

Do you know if the same artists featured at the California location have work at this Wonderground Gallery? I love Lyla Warren’s Disney sculptures and would love to be able to find them in Florida!

    • @Trinna – I have not seen the full assortment that will be offered at WonderGround Gallery in the Marketplace Co-Op. I know the development team, however, will most likely offer items from artists who are also featured in WonderGround Gallery in California.

  • James’ wife here – Oh my those artist renditions of alligator girl from HM and Maleficent are incredible!
We will be at Disney in May and I am so looking forward to heading to Downtown Disney/Disney Springs that first day!
    Can’t WAIT!!!!

  • Does this mean the Beautifully Disney range is no more? I’ll be devastated if it’s gone, I wanted to pick up some more eyeshadow palettes when I return in May!

    • @Amy – For now, Guests may still find a few select Beautifully Disney items at Disney Parks. There are also a handful of items on our Disney Parks online store (http://www.DisneyParks.com/Store – search “Beautifully Disney”). Another option would be to contact our Merchandise Guest Services team by telephone at 877-560-6477 or by email at Merchandise.Guest.Services@DisneyParks.com.

  • So my question is, where in Co-op is this going? Is it replacing something that’s currently in there or is the space simply being rearranged? I’m super excited – I’ve loved seeing all of the WonderGround Gallery items that have been on that little section in the middle!

    • @Amanda – WonderGround Gallery will expand into the spot previously occupied by Beautifully Disney.
